We have 16 self-contained, serviced, non-smoking units ranging in size from small studios to two-bedroom units (including 2 wheelchair access units). We cater for families, individuals, couples, corporate and hospital guests, as well as large-group bookings. We are 1 km from edge of the main shopping district , 1/2 km from university & hospitals, 400m from Botanical Gardens. Each unit has cooking facilities, these varying according to the size of the unit. There are electric blankets on each bed, a hairdryer in each unit, TV with 5 sky channels, complimentary milk on arrival, a newspaper delivered to your doorstep each morning, refreshments that are replenished daily and an iron and an ironing board. For the busy traveller or for those wanting a wee treat, a continental breakfast can be delivered to your unit.With the press of a button, wireless internet access is available in your unit at very reasonable rates. We are also pet-friendly.

Getting there:We are located at the north end of George St between the Howe St and Duke St intersections, opposite George St Normal School. Coming from the north, as you come down hill into the City, turn left off State Highway 1 (SH1) at the sign for George St and turn left again to go back under SH1 and we are the first motel on the left. Coming from the south stay on SH1 (one way system flowing north through the city) until you reach Duke St at the north end of town. Turn left into Duke St then turn left into George St. Our motel will be on your left hand side.
Check-in Procedure:Check in time is 2pm - may be earlier by arrangement. Come to reception and confirm your personal and payment details.
Car parking:If your have brought your car with you on your journey, it can be parked safely off the street. Alternatively, for those without transport, we are situated on the main bus route into the city centre, with a bus stop right outside the gate.
Child Policy:We are family-oriented motel and with a school right next door, the kids can shoot hoops, skate, climb, play or simply let off steam - getting them out from under your feet!
Excellent location, off the road so nice and quiet. It was fantastic also to have parking away from the main road. Very friendly reception, easy and fast.
The motel is located @ km from centre, it is easy to find. The wireless interent was little bit slow. The personell was very friendly
A SMALL STUDIO unit with a double bed, en suite with a shower and toilet, plus a small kitchenette that has a microwave, electric fry pan, a toaster and tea and coffee-making facilities.
These LARGE STUDIO units have a queen or king plus a single bed in the open-plan living area. The cooking facilities include bench top oven, hotplates, bar fridge, a microwave, electric frying pan, toaster & a jug. The unit has a bathroom with separate shower and toilet.
Our ONE-BEDROOM units sleep either 3 or 4 people. All have a queen in the bedroom and a single bed in the lounge area. Those that sleep up to 4 either have another single in the bedroom or lounge area. There is a toilet plus shower in bathroom (please contact us if you require the wheelchair access unit here). The dining area and kitchen facilities include hotplates (let us know if you need an oven), a fridge, microwave, electric frying pan, toaster and a jug.
These spacious TWO-BEDROOM units have a queen in the master bedroom, 2 singles in the second bedroom as well as a single bed and a sofa bed in the living area. The spacious multifunctional living/dining and kitchen area comfortably accommodates the family or small group with full cooking facilities that include oven with stovetop hotplates, a microwave, fridge/freezer, an electric frying pan, toaster and tea and coffee-making facilities. The bathroom has a shower and toilet.
Very pleased to see they have an environmental award & are into recycling in a big way - including food scraps for their worm farm! They a good supply of dishes for cooking a meal & an egg beater :-) Close to the bus stop into the city (tho it is with in walking distance), a corner shop & some small restaurants.

Even though it was a quick in and out and did not get to use the bathroom emenities ie: shower, I was very impressed! Exactly what I needed and wanted and price!! Love the Keep NZ Green image and hope the worms enjoyed my left-overs :) As Arny would say "ILL BE BACK!"

Stayed 2 bedrooms. The rooms and bathroom was old. Bathroom sink was really small. But staff were really nice and rooms are clean. A little bit long walk from the center of the city. Good place to stay for the price.
Quiet, clean with all amenities. Will stay there again.

Under new management with very friendly and helpful owners. Facilities a little old but clean and well looked after. The room was large and with the cooking facilities is good value for money. Handy location and easy to find.
Great hosts, new-ish interiors, no broadband and 20 cents-per-minute dialup charges (local call toll. Extra children under 12 count as adults ($17 per night extra charge for each). No bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo, etc) but huge, fluffy towels. Tiny, oddly placed television but good Sky coverage, including Disney.
Good all round facitities and priced accordingly.
