Gasthof Groenhove is an oasis of peace within walking distance of the historic centre, that won't leave any visitor indifferent. The hotel is an old, charming villa and has six comfortable rooms with bathroom (some with bath, most with walk-in showers), telephone, mini-bar, safe, wireless internet and TV. The limited number of rooms guarantees a personal welcome and a family atmosphere. The rooms vary in size, and are elegant and romantically furnished. Most of the rooms have lovely large windows overlooking the gardens which surround the hotel. Reception is the large hall of the old house, which has a beautiful staircase leading to the first floor, from where a staircase leads to the top floor where there are two very large rooms, perfect for families. The gardens are quite extensive with water features, and give the hotel the air of being in the country. Bicycles are available to hire from the hotel (free of charge for our guests). A cot can be provided in the rooms free of charge for infants less than 1 year old. Breakfast is served in the light and airy glass-sided veranda with a view of the hotel's garden or outside in the garden. It is also possible to have breakfast in the room. Free parking in the grounds.

Getting there:You can get to Bruges by the E40 via exit 9 (Oostkamp). From exit 9 it is 7 km via the N 50 to the ring road. Before the Katelijnepoort turn right and follow the ring road (R30)until the next bridge: this is the GENTPOORT. About 20 meters before the Gentpoort, you turn right and take the Generaal Lemanlaan. After about 400 meters you take the Dhoorestraat at your right side. At the end of this street, you go left . Now you’re in the GULDENPEERDENSTRAAT . After 60 meters you’ll see the hotel at your left side.

Interior looked tired and didn't represent the quality of the photos on the web site. Very steep stairs to the top floor bedroom and was quite small for 3 beds wasn't expecting to be sleeping in roof area of the hotel with steep sloping ceilings, would have prefered tea making facilities rather than a mini bar in the room
Lovely hotel,friendly host. just outside city walls we walked it one day and tok car in next, both with no real problems. Our room was very clean and homely and the grounds of the hotel and bicycles are at the guests disposal - unfortunatley it was a bit too cold to eat breakfast outside so it was a bit squashed in the heated conservatory but again no great problem , A brilliant hotel with a lot of character,Recommended - we will be going back there.

It is a small guesthouse but has a nice and charming feel to it. The owners welcome you personally and also give you a brief introduction of the city including a map and restaurant tips. In the room is a bottle of wine and two glasses waiting for you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gasthof Groenhoeve. The hosts, Hans and Angelina made us feel very much at home, had a wonderful breakfast spread and have a nice, clean guesthouse into which they obviously put a lot of effort. Hans gave us a personal welcoming introduction to Brugge, with an overview of Brugge, explaining how to get about and the key sightseeing points. They were also very helpful with dinner/lunch suggestions. A short walk from town centre, but that was fine.
