The scene begins here. ONLY PRIVATE ROOMS The Hostel offers rooms with private bathrooms, balcony or terrace with Puerta del Sol Square views. Also, there is no expensive rooms with shared bathroom in the floor. Recreation room, dining room, and self-service laundry room, in very nice decoration, altogether in a most pleasant atmosphere for your enjoinment.

Getting there:If you come to Madrid, it is easy to find the Puerta del Sol Hostel. Just ask for Puerta del Sol Square. We're located right at nº 14 Puerta del Sol, next to Alcala Street nº 1, between the PANS & COMPANY restaurant and the Pharmacy. Your trip from the Airport to Plaza Puerta del Sol is about 20 minutes and around 18 euros by taxi (Stop in the first semaphore in Puerta del Sol Square) or 45 minutes and a cost of 1 euro by Metro (SOL station) (Information and map in Airport Station). Taxi and metro stops are located right on the square.

Excellent location, on Peurta del Sol, one of Madrid's main plazas. a few steps to a main metro station and major bus routes.
You get what you pay for usually but for this price you get a great deal. Basic accommodation but clean, super friendly staff, tv and air con in rooms. Beds not the greatest and very squeaky, but hey who the hell goes to Madrid to sleep... Fantastic location, 1 minute walk from metro station at plaza del sol which is a short walk away from chueca, bars, shops, museums etc. If you're on a limited budget I don't think you could do much better...
The Beds was very poor and uncomfortable, we sleept very badly and was tired each day. The door to the balkon could would not close entirely, the wind kept blowing in - in january it is a chilly experience! The toilet was running all the time, so we had a constant sound of running water - quite annoing! However the location could not be better, the hostal is placed in the center of Madrid, Plaza de la Sol. The best location in Madrid. The service is exellent, the staff was always helpful and in a good mood. There is always staff at the hostal. Breakfast was standard, cornlakes, milk, bread, butter and jam with coffee, the and milk. I will not recommend it. We enjoyed our stay in Madrid, and we will deffently go there again - but we will not stay at the Hostal Puerto del Sol Madrid again. We will deffently try to find another place. If you will go there, book only one night, and try to find another place, once you get there. There is a lot of good places to stay.
The Puerta del Sol square the hostal looks out over is currently having work done on it and is a building site.
I found the manager of the hostel not to be very friendly, and as a result did not enjoy my stay in the Hostal. Regards
