A bit noisy late at night but it is a hostel
The Hostel was very good in terms of location and cleanliness. The breakfast buffet served was not so appealing as there was no choice. We reached the Hostel at 12 noon and the Check-In time was 3pm. We were not given the room till 3:15 as the room was not ready and we had to wait at the waiting lounge. This delay in allotting the room resulted in change of the travel plan for the day. The Free Tourist Guide was about to start at 3:15pm and we couldn't make it the same day. I suggest the Hostel should take care of this and avoid delays in this regard. Every thing else is fine :) Thanks,
Very good Hostel, fun place to meet people except if you want an early night there is sometimes a bit of noise.
We can recommend The Generator Hostel and we will stay there again when we visit Berlin. Located few meters from tram and S-train station. Party more or less every evening so do not visit the Generator if you are looking for a quiet place :-)
The location is excellent and just next to a public transportation station. The only drawback is that the wall and the door is thin. You can hear noise from people in the corridor or next doors. Overall, it's a good choice to stay if you plan to do lots of sightseeing.
Would definitely go back.
Good hostel, good entertainment facilities and fairly clean. Can be quite a walk to toilets/shower walk if you have a shared facilities room but what can you expect in a hostel. Good bar area and friendly staff. Takes around 30mins to get to the centre of Berlin on the tram system. Located right outside the Landsberger Alle station.
Excellent location with regular trams into Alexanderplatz. Despite being a large hostel with a lively mix of people, the team running it manage to keep everything in order and I did not experience any problems with noise after 11pm, despite being in a room that was directly above the bar. Cheap and cheerful, it is not luxury, but if you want somewhere to get sleep and a decent breakfast, and be close to the city centre then you can’t go too wrong with the Generator.
One of the best Hostels I've ever stayed. The cleanlines is flawless, and the hostel offers lots of enetertainment and facilities. The parking is really free, though you park on a parking lot on the street without any security. The crew are very attentious and informative. Would definitelly stay on another of the Generator's hostels.
We were on the side of the building facing the train line, so the room was very noisy. Also there was knocking in the pipes, hwich was particularly annoying at 3am. Otherwise a well priced hotel.
An excellent, value for money hostel with a youthful vibe and well situated near the S-Bahn. The continental breakfast was also very good. Only slight issue was the (inevitable) noise from large student groups. Be prepared to spend a little time travelling in and out of the city.
This is a very 'lively' venue in a quite new building. Bright, modern "industrial" decor, with most of the clientele being under 25. Very well placed, right next to S-Bahn station, and a fast regular tram service down Landsberger Allee that gets you into Alexanderplatz in less than 10 minutes. Several eateries nearby for variety.
The conditions of the hotel are good, but it is too far and there is no service, at all.
I was there also for the 6 days of cycling . the velodrome of Berlin is in the oposite of the hotel. Only seperated by the S-bahn. Very good when I came 1.15 out of the velodrome and I want to sleep fast. 5 min.later I was in my room. In 10 minutes you can ride to the U-bahn en then 1n 15 min. you are in the center. A good point is the bancomat (for take out money)in the hotel. My room was sober but exellent. Shower and toilet were great and very clean. Only on the floor was an old carpet, but so what? I am 52 years old but it is an fabulous hotel for young people (there were a lot). I could sleep quietly and there was nearly no noise. (I d'ont know how it is in summertime. I was there in januari. At the reception they are friendly and there was even an dutch girl (tempery practical work) Next time I will come back.
Massive place and a little out of the way but close to trains etc so not a major problem.
I loved my stay there. It was the best hostel that I ever stayed in. Great Place and the staff very friendly.
Very good value for money, safe, clean with comfortable beds. Very friendly and efficient staff. Good transport connections. Can be noisy in the corridors at night, and the coffee is undrinkably weak, but I would recommend it to a friend and return myself. This is no run-down backpackers hostel, but agleaming purpose-build facility with an emphasis of helping visitors to get the most out of their visits to Berlin and with great staff, many bilingual or multilingual.
Definitely worth considering, though the cleaners need some training in cleaning.
The best hostel I have ever picked!! Great facilities, great people.
Nice stay, good service. well located nearby s-bahn( landsberg alle) and tram stop small rooms, just for short stays
