Gentofte Hotel Copenhagen

The Hotel is in the suburbs away from the City Centre but ideal for our visit because we were seeing friends. Breakfast - adequate buffet. Free WiFi with no hassles. Room small but okay for a short stay. Not much hanging space and no shelves or drawers. Beds not really comfortable and shower pressure minimal. Reception friendly and helpful. Ideal for short stay but probably too far away from city for tourists.

About 20 minutes from town on the suburban train. Trains run regularly though. Nice hotel.

This is basically a small old fashioned Danish Hotel, the staff are helpful and the hotel has a friendly atmosphere. My bedroom was a little run down but clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet was good and there is free internet access in the rooms. It is located in a suburb outside of town so if you want to see the sights it is a train or taxi ride away.

A bit expensive, but Denmark is expensive. When we took the initial taxi ride from the train station, we paid a lot, because we didn't realise how far away it was (in fairness, the taxi driver warned us). However, the local train is only a 10 minute walk away, and so if you have a Eurail pass you will be fine. The receptionsists were friendly and informative. Breaskfast was fine. Shops and banks are quite conveniently located in the suburb of Gentofte.

Good, ordinary hotel - but a bit old!

Nice and cosy hotel with good service and a very good restaurant. Ab 15mins with train to city. Ab 10mins to a great beach. Ab 15mins with train to Dyrehavsbakken (tivoli).

Older hotel about 20 minute "subway" train ride ("S" train) into the main station. Bus to Gentofte train station stops at hotel door, but only runs every 30 minutes, else 6-7 minute walk to the station. My single room was comfortable and adequate shower was small but everything worked. When I asked for a bit of maintence on a slow drain, it was attended to immediately. This is a good, basic older hotel in the suburbs that is being well maintained but not updated.

Very nice and clean, friendly small hotel in a great suburb. Location is also close to train and bus and shopping.

Excellent Food

I was second time in Gentofte Hotel and I can recommend it as a very nice Family Hotel, with good service, excellent braeckfast, good restaurant, good parking possibilities and you have to possibility by a 5 minutes walk to go by city railway within 15 minutes without any problems to the City of Copenhagen. When I will visit Copenhagen next time - Gentofte Hotel !
