Getting there:Gilmer Serviced Apartments is a 15-20 minutes taxi ride from the airport or 12 minutes walk to the train station. It is located off Boulcott Street which can be accessed from The Terrace via the James Cook, Willis Street via the Grand Annexxe or Lambton Quay via the City Life Hotel. 5-7Minutes drive from the Ferry Terminals. By Car from the North: If arriving in Wellington from the north, simply take the "Terrace" exit. Turn right from the set of traffic light and be in your left hand side lane. Take the off ramp just after the turn to go left on Boulcott street. Take first left from Boulcott street to Gilmer Terrace and we are just on the right hand side.

Stayed here before - good position close to Lambton Quay. Rooms are fine - a bit noisy on Level 1 but I'm a heavy sleeper Good overall experience if only in Wellington for 1-3 nights

I trod on a piece of glass in the kitchen area (presumably previous occupant had broken a glass or something which had not been properly cleaned up) - the receptionist seemed indifferent about that. Also TV was not available first night of stay. Rubbish truck work me each morning at 4 am. So these outweighed the good location and price and I will not stay there againa
Helpful polite service, modern, clean facilities, great stay.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is particularly well-equipped and very accessible to all central Wellington services. Safe and well lit walking distance to bars, shopping and restaurants.
Only five minutes walk down to Lamton Quay (down the steep Plimmer steps) so it is a good location. I thought the family room included a seperate bedroom - it didn't so we were 4 in a single open-plan room. VERY noisy during the night next door - some sort of car park with very noisy trucks in the early hours of the morning banging around.
The hotel is very clean, the room was spacious and well furnished, the receptionist was really helpful, they provided excellent customer service, I would stay in this hotel again.
Nice and close to the centre of Wellington - great for overnighters!
The room was a reasonable size. Non-existent view but that was no problem. No central heating but oil column heater was perfectly acceptable. Bathroom very clean. TV & radio very good. Didn't need all facilities as only there 2 nights but washing/cooking facilities would be appreciated in appropriate circumstances. Central location although the walk up the Plimmer Steps from Lambton Quay will give a good workout. All in all very happy with our stay.
Comfortable bed, clean & cosy - ideal for short stay. Friendly staff and above average facilities at this level. A bit of a rabbit-warren but got used to it. One chair at table for at least two people was quite puzzling, had to use waste bin as the other! Will stay again.

The apartment was fine. However there was a strong air freshener smell which was off putting.
This hotel was OK but for some reason provide fewer bottles/packets of lotions etc than another Quest apartment I stayed in.
We enjoyed our stay Thankyou and very happy with everything
Excellent stay, lacked only a hair dryer and a coffee bodum and bags which is why I didn't give it 100%
Very nice room with good feeling of space. Rooms are not serviced on a weekend.
