No complaints, room spacious, very clean, hotel staff very welcoming and friendly. Ate in the hotel and food was very nice, breakfast all you need and very fresh. Brisk walk to Byers Road or a short taxi ride, also good train service to city centre.
The hotel offered a good price and was the only one near where we wanted to be in the West End of Glasgow. Still it was a bit disappointing. We stayed there in mid-November, but had to keep the window open all the time to try to cool the room down. (No A/C and the window opened only a few inches.) Leaving the window open meant we got traffic noise from Great Western Rd. Plus, EVERY morning there was some truck or other outside work going on at 5-6 am, waking us up. The bed felt hard and worn-out. The only cover was a comforter. So it was hard to get comfortable and not be too hot. There was also a compressor/fan noise that cut on and off every few minutes, all night long. (Maybe the AC for another room?) Breakfast and staff were good. I might stay there again IF I could be assured of a room that was more comfortable. I'd recommend this only to someone who wants to be in walking distance for that area in Glasgow (like we did) -- and then I'd encourage them to make sure the room is comfortable.
The Pond Hotel was exactly what we needed for our stay in Glasgow. It was close to the West end where we spent a lot of time, and only a twenty minute bus ride into the city centre. Our room was lovely and clean, and had all the amenities we needed, including free wifi, which was available throughout the hotel. staff were very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant offered good food at decent prices. All in all, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I'd definitely book again if over in Glasgow.
Free parking on property, at a bus stop for a straight shot to the city center, full service.
This was my second visit to this hotel. Once again, check-in was on the slow side and I was initially sent to an unserviced room. Thereafter everything was good with pleasant staff and a well equipped bedroom. Bar prices are on the high side.
Cheerful and helpful staff. Good value hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. Not city centre, but easy access to city and attractions. Only thing missing is a leisure club. If you want a good value room, for little more than a "travelinn" but with service and personality included, then I can recommend the Pond Hotel
The Glasgow pond was a pleasant enough hotel and the room was very clean and tidy. One thing to bear in mind is its an expensive taxi ride from the hotel to the center of Glasgow and my only critism of the hotel was we were kept awake til 1am by a noisy toddler in the next room and were woken at 7am by the same noisy toddler causing us to be extremely tired all the next day.Surely its only fair that on your arrival staff should warn you there is a very young child in the next room or alternatively plan things so people with youngsters are in the one area.It was pointless us putting the "dont disturb" sign on the door.
Standard rooms only, no upgrades possible. Pretty basic but adequate. Bathrooms very small - half baths - but amazing showers. Staff are absolutely fantastic, and go out of their way to help.
A pleasant hotel in a nice part of Glasgow. The breakfast was superb.
The staff were very helpful. The only comment to make (and this is true of many hotels of that age, is that the there is very litle sound insolation within the hotel (external noise was not a probelm) but you could hear phones in adjacent rooms, if somebody closed a door of another room it was enough to wake up light sleepers. However in other respects this was a good hotel.
Hotel was well situated for access to both city centre and the West Coast. It was clean and serviced with a dedicated staff who were always helpful at all times. The staff seemed to rjun a 'happy family' set-up and there were no real faults to be found.
easy accessible, nice big rooms, great food in the hotel but I would recommend changing the menu every day as I got bored of eating the same things! very friendly staff! use of their fax machine which I very importantly needed, would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends
We had a very pleasant stay, the room was modern and clean. The staff were fantastic helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay again and would recommend to friends and family. Do not be put off by the exterior!
We have stayed here before and love the place. It is a bit out of town but it ticks all the boxes.
The room was well appointed, comfortable and clean. Hotel is well positioned for the West End with an short bus trip to Byres Road with all the Shops, Bars and Restaurants.
nice 3 star. Reception first class - hotel close to all West End amenities. Would return.
We enjoyed our stay very much the room was cleaned and tidied every day, during our four day stay over the New Year Break, even on the days we had long lie in's. The room was excellent, up to date, very clean, and nice and warm, during the cold weather. Will stay there again, and we are happy to recommend it to others.
Shocking Customer service at reception. Receptionist constantly answering phone while in mid conversation with each member of our group
Good enough hotel for getting around Glasgow west end. Rooms clean and tidy and reception staff very good....Nice location in glasgow west end and great rate on [website], could not complain. Would use again.
We have stayed at this hotel more times than we can remember on our stays in Glasgow. It is a very, very clean, well run establishment with excellent spacious bedrooms and a good choice of food at meal-times. For the price bracket, it is the best hotel we have stayed in, we will be back.
