Getting there:There is only 1 main road on the West Coast, State Highway 6. Stay on this highway, you can't get lost. From Christchurch go through the Arthurs Pass - drive time is about 5 hours. From Queenstown go through the Haast Pass - drive time is about 6 hours. We are located 3km north of the Franz Josef Township.

Car parking:Each villa has its own carpark space alongside the villa. The 2-bedroom villas have covered carports.
Child Policy:Parents have peace of mind, as your children have lots of things to entertain them and plenty of space to burn off that extra energy! We have the mini pet farm, interaction and feeding the animals. Childrens playground, Trampoline, Petanque Court, Dvd Library, board games and lots more. Come and see for yourselves! Babysitting service available. There is a charge for this.
Amazing! Beautiful location, not too close to town, fantastic service. Highly recommended. We will definitely stay here again.
The Glenfern Villas are situated at the edge of the town and we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and taken immediately to our villa. This was extremely well equipped making it possible to self cater if desired. We were given fresh milk rather than those UHT pots. It was very clean with lovely crisp linen on the beds. The bathroom had showergel and hand gels which smelled lovely and are available to purchase at reception. We were made to feel comfortable about asking for anything else we needed and we were allowed a bit of flexibility on checking out in the morning. Had a great night's sleep!! Would highly recommend this accommodation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Glenfern Villas at Franz Josef. The setting was quiet with magnificent views and the facilities were fantastic for children. Would recommend this property to anyone!
Ceasar at reception was extremely helpful and courteous with any queries or requests we had. The motel is about three kilometers out of town however if you have a car this is not a problem
kitchen was handy but the bed was quite small (double bed not king size bed). Wished there was a bath after a day of hiking!

We were pleasantly surprised by our accommodation at Franz Joseph. The self contained unit was modern, comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Glenfern Villas at Franz Josef and will return if the opportunity arises.
What a wonderful place to stay. The staff were friendly, informative, and helpful, the room - decor was fantastic and the bed was comfortable. I'll be going back!
The place was great, clean, quiet, easy to find. The only thing was that the location was about 2km from the town so you had to drive in if you wanted to go for dinner etc, otherwise hightly recommend it.

Nice well kept villas but a lttle bit too far from the main village for a night on the town. Excellent location for a relaxing break though.
The motel is great! The rooms are in very good condition with very good view at the balcony. I will definitely consider staying in this motel again for my next visit.

Great place to stay just 1 minute outside the township. Beautiful mountain views greet you in the morning. Very clean and relatvely new apartments. Highly recommended for the price!
