Globus Hotel Florence

Great hotel. The location was perfect for me. I liked that they were open all the time and kept the key for the room at the hotel. I did not have to worry about loosing the key.Very safe area. Hotel staff was wonderful and very friendly. The breakfast was great. I loved being able to order a cappucino every morning .My room was small, but just right for me. It was very clean and there is a refrigerator with drinks in it. Having the TV was great. I watched all these old old american programs in italian.Able to easily set up wake-up calls. Great shower in small bathroom. No bathmat for shower, Have to step up and be careful to get into shower and not slip. Perfect hotel and good price. I was very happy with my choice. Hotel is located on side street with no car access, so have to walk a half a block from taxi drop off. Taxi from airport is sooo easy to this hotel. definitely worth getting taxi from cheap tickets.

This was one of the BEST experiences we have ever had during a hotel stay (and I was employed with Marriott Intl for 23 years) the staff was outstanding! everyone made sure that all of our needs were met, the entire staff speak english, so that was very helpful during our 2 week stay! Floerence is a spectacular city and the staff at the Globus Hotel made our visit even more spectacular!! We can't wait to return!!!

This small hotel is close to the train station and right in the center. 2 min from San Lorenzo and 5 min from Il Doumo. The street is pedestrian only so it is very quite at night. Our room faced the street and we had no problems with noise. The room was comfortable and the wireless worked fine unlike some 4 star places we stayed in in Rome. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way for us. We would stay here again.

For the money, it was a great place to stay. Excellent breakfast and helpful, English speaking staff. The room was comfortable and clean. Location was excellent. They had this tiny elevator that was a bit of a horror to use so we walked up the stairs most of the time. I would definately stay there again

Our room located on the first floor which is just next to reception! So noisy! other then that, this hotel is really good! Nice and helpful staffs, good location!

Nice hotel with friendly staff.

this hotel is situated right in thye middle of it and although the room for a triple was not that large and the extra bed was too small but this was replacedfor a marginally bigger one after some reasoning request. there was 1 flight of stairs to the office and 2 more to the rooms but that was ok as there was a small lift operating manually for your bags. breakfast was good but in the smallest room that can only accomodate 10 at one time.everything else was ok particularly the location and the p.m. male receptionist.

Would recommend this hotel. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was great. Our room was very small but that was as we had requested an economy room as we were on a budgel. Stylish and modern, you get what you pay for

Although the room was a bit cramped, the overall stay was pleasant. Breakfast service and free wi-fi was very welcome. Being centrally located all the museums and tourist sites are within 15 minutes walk. Front desk was helpfull in booking for the tickets for the museums.

Good location near Station but in a noisy area. Room a bit small.

The rooms are a bit on the small side, the bathroom was also small wi9th an unusual entrance to the hotel. The people working there were very helpful and a member of the staff comes down and takes your suitcase up to the reception. Extremely central location and only a couple of minutes walk from the railway station

Great location, staff are very helpful. Parking is 20 Euro about 100 meters from hotel, bit of a task if you have heavy luggage no lift at hotel

Fantastic place to stay, would recommend!

As per everywhere else in Italy, accommodation is expensive and space at a premium. Set your expectations as per the hotel's star rating rather than the price of the room. We stayed in the cheapest room and it was tiny with barely room for anything other than the bed. Having said this, the room had been renovated recently and bathroom facilities were very new (we stayed in early October 2008). We loved that we also had free Wi-Fi in the room. Location: the plus side is its proximity to the train station and San Lorenzo markets. On the downside, due to this there were a lot of guys milling around outside all night including a fight requiring police attendance at around 3am on one of the nights we stayed. Would still recommend it anyway for a relatively affordable place to stay.

superior room was fabulous and spotless with good size bathroom. we had to have a standard room on our second night -- it was $70 AUD cheaper but was a little dirty and had a tiny tiny bathroom

Very nice hotel room and very quite, rooms have double glazing and an extra double glazed window to keep noise out. Our room was small but adequate for 2 people. We had air conditioning which we needed as very very hot. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right in the heart of Florence. Would stay here again.

generally good although a bit expensive. service ok, free internet. close to train station and city center.

The only trouble is to haandle heavy bagage up to the reception.
