I have stayed in several Thon Hotels. Mr. Thon is a hotel magnet in Norway, very famous here, all of the other hotels that I have stayed in within his chain fall within Scandinavian hotel standards (tiny rooms, overpriced, lack of service (no valet, no bellboy, no roomservice)
However, the Arena hotel is different, new, modern, and relatively spacious compared to Mr. Thon''s other properties. I do notice though that all of his hotels are missing something or something is broken, a broken hot tub, or in the case of the Hotel Arena no one ever fixed the pool and installed the lap jet machine (there is a hole there for it). Sadly, no other hotels in the area are any better.
Compared to the US you dont get much for your money, but if you want need to stay near Oslo (the hotel is between Oslo and Gardemoen, then its a great place to stay, in Norway)" - Shane Murray
