Gorgulho Hotel Funchal

"First impressions are not so good as the hotel is not one of the prettiest. Once inside, the hotel does look a bit tired and in need of refurbishment, athough the rooms are very basic the standard of cleanliness is excellent with bedding and towels changed regularly. Breakfast was sufficient for our needs with a varied range of cold meat, cheese, fruit and always two hot dishes each morning. The staff in the hotel from reception, maids and especially staff in the dining room and bar were exceptional. For the price we paid we will most definately return as value for money was excellant." - Eleanor Bain
