Clean hotel with spacious bathroom however bedroom was rather small and funishings were very ordinary and akin to a youth hotel. Over priced for wah you get. If it's any consolation they do have a good breakfast.
The Gotico is a lovely hotel situated in a very convenient location in Barcelona. Ideal for exploring the old parts of Barcelona, the sea front and Las Ramblas. This is the second time that I have stayed in this Hotel. It can be a little noisy at the front of the hotel as it is on a very busy street, but if you get a bedroom on the 3rd or 4th floor this is not a problem.
Location was very good and fine that the hotel dont use money for installing TV in every room.
The hotel should be rated as three star hotel instead of four star, othwerwise it's OK. Good for a 1-2 night stay.
i have seen hostels in better condition than this so call "4 star" hotel, it is old , dirty and in desperate need of a facelift but if you can get past that, it's situation is perfect for a weekend break in barcelona. Having said that there are several other hotels within one hundred meters of the Gotico and I would definately check them out before ustng the Gotico again.
To be honest this is the worst 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in. I was kept awake by dogs barking, the fittings in the bathroom were coming away from the wall. Totally overpriced. Would not stay there again.
An excellent location, good clean hotel. Service was very poor though, staff either just did not care and/or did not have a clue! The worst service I have experienced to date.
The hotel was OK, but nothing special. The price of the rooms indicates a higher level of service and standard than the hotel actually is offering.
Television was not clear - lines making it hard to view - also shortage of English Channels like SKY Television
A very nice place to stay if you dont mind a bit of traffic noise. the bar was rarely open there are no tea or coffee facilities other than at breakfast. If you like a good Enlish cup of tea forget it its not at this hotel, but the coffee was good I dont know how this hotel qualifys as****
The location of the hotel is fantastic, right in the heart of the Barri Gotic. Service was abit haphazard, but other than that, not a bad choice.
The best sleep we had for a long time. The bed was ever so comfortable. The room is really cute, excellent location. I'd stay here again for sure.
Good Hotel, excelent location.
An ideal city centre hotel, with a very good buffet breakfast and comfortable rooms
I was epecting more from a 4* hotel. The bathroom had a broken rusty shower head and cracked floor tiles. The bed cover had a burn mark and the breakfast was very simple to say the least. Positives are that you couldn't be in a better location in the city as you are within 10 mins of nearly every major attraction and the hotel is lovely and quiet. Which is a fantastic as Barcelona never sleeps!
Hotel location is perfect for the old town. Rooms are small as you would expect from type of building and age etc. but perfectly adequate with good ensuite facilities. One of our rooms had a private veranda same size as the room itself. Could not fault the hotel.
The location was fabulous, just minutes from the Ramblas and the Cathedral. Room spacious and breakfast provide a good choice.
Stayed here in late April 2004. Very good location in the Gothic Quarter near the cathedral and the square where you can catch the red and blue busses for sightseeing (which I highly recommend as you can get on and off whenever you want). We would stay here again.
Both my partner and I found the service at the hotel to be excellent. The hotel was very clean and the staff were amazing, there was always someone on hand to help with any enquiries. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other people.
Very enjoyable holiday. We found the location much more convenient than being closer to Las Ramblas. Staff friendly and helpful. No problems at all.
