very run down but cheap and clean
this hotel was extremely basic. the price is very low, so it is ideal for budget travellers, but do not expect much for your money. it badly needs to be renovated. the rooms are very old and a bit grotty, and the same goes for the bathroom. however the bathrooms are cleaned everyday, so they weren't too dirty. fine if you want a cheap place to stay with a relatively good location, but it is literally a place to sleep in and then to escape from as soon after you wake up as possible.
Close to public transport. Room was a little rough, but clean enough and bathrooms close by.
they were wonderful,i wasnt able to check in early but was allowed to check out late, they were quick with extra blankets, friendly and professional. this is avery very good choice for a hotel in NYC,i will stay there again!!
This hotel is basic -- but some of the rooms have a fair amount of space. There is no daily cleaning service -- only when people leave. The bathrooms are shared with a lot of other rooms, but what can one expect in New York at this price? (Which is on par with the lowest prices I have found in Manhattan -- and I have looked a lot.) There is no cafe, only vending machines. But outside there are lots of delis and cafes. It would be nice to have towels replaced when one stays 4-5 days. That said -- they might respond to a request for new towels. The front desk was generally friendly -- and answered questions. So if you are a budget "traveler" and not a "tourist" -- face the reality: its not great, but the price and location make it worth the other small sacrifices.
when I got to the hostel they didn't have my reservation on file and they were completely booked for the 36 bed dorm I had paid for. I showed them my receipt for payment and the man did everything he could to get me a bed. I ended up an a 4 bed private for no extra cost. Compared to hostels in Europe it was pretty good. I will be back.
I found the hostel very attractive and pleasant. The neighborhood is quite nice, with the subway just a few blocks away.
A priceworthy hotel in a very nice area.
ok for the money
Good value for money but don't expect pristine conditions.
good location very very basic but u don,t seem to get very much for ur money in manhatton
Nice location very close to the subway and Central Park. Bed was comfortable and room warm. BUT......... Hotel stairs and hallways in bad need of decoration and quite depressing. Pictures of rooms on website do not match with actual rooms which are in need of new doors(which fit), and replacement of cracked window glass. No wardrobes or anywhere to hang clothes
It was in a good area with good shops and bars and close to Central Park. It is really a hostel without many of a hostel's services. In our room was a bed, TV and broken table.
