Room basic and needs attention to detail. Bar a disaster - no drinks i looked for - wine and vodka - ran out of vodka. Bar was grubby with young staff that didn't put customer first.
We enjoyed our stay here and would use it again.
We enjoyed our stay at Grand Canal Dublin. It was a good hotel in that it was ideally located for going to the football and yet was an easy walk to the main shopping area. The hotel downstairs was great, especially when the football was on. We would stay again and would recommend.
The hotel was easy to access from the ferry and the parking was convenient. The hotel was conveniently located and within easy walking distance of the city centre. The noise on Saturday night was a bit disturbing but all that bad.
very nice hotel ,staff are very helpfull
All we wanted! Lovely spacious rooms which were beautifully clean. Staff friendly and helpful. We sat with friends over a long late breakfast and felt welcome to do so. Would definitely visit again.
We were held up with the ash & had to change our flights. the hotel allowed us to swap our days at no extra charge which was a real bonus. Thank you
unfortunately we only had 1 night there, would have enjoyed a longer stay, it was a lovely hotel and ideally placed for the city centre and the rugby grounds where my team were playing
Well located for Grand Canal Theatre and near to DART station. Nice, clean, modern room with a good bathroom and nice extra touches such as bath robes. Internet access available via TV in room for a flat fee of 5.50 Euro per 24 hours - very reasonable compared to local internet cafe prices of 7.50 Euro per hour.
Quiet... Clean... Courteous... Excellent Location... Great Car Park... Two Blocks to DART.... Ten Blocks to Landsdowne....
the hotel was excellent for cleanliness and location although it might not suit everyone as it was a 15-20 min walk to the city centre. The bar was lovely and it's staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
The grand hotel was your average hotel, however it doesnt have a swimming pool which i have to say i love. The gasworks pub attached to it is brilliant. They do specials after 5 and the drinks are releavitely cheap. the food is cheap as well and you get loads! The dart is right beside the hotel so its really handy for getting into city centre as its only two stops away!
Location reasonable but far from perfect. Service otherwise good, but during our meeting banquet the service was terrible and the waiters even billed extra from many people. Can't recommend this hotel for meetings. The hotel should switch into "green". Towels should not be changed daily (unless so requested by the customer) and so on.
Exceptional for the money. Not too far to walk from city center and docks. Only a little noisey from road but highly recommend it
Very friendly and professional staff. Would definately recommend this hotel. If I had to gripe (and this is nitpicking) I have a thing about loud tvs in bars, I avoided the bar area because of this.
Excellent location, 20 mins walk approx to city centre, friendly staff, free parking, spotlessly clean, key card operated lifts to bedroom floors so very secure - what more could you ask for?
had a lopsided bed the 1st night, wrote that on coment card and had a new mattress the next day, excellent. Also we were upgraded to an executive room, although i think the only difference was that we had a balcony but still we have never been upgraded before
Very impressed staying at this hotel...Totally recommend it and i will certainly use it again.
I'm very pleased I chose The Grand Canal Hotel Dublin for my 3 nights stay in the Irish Capital this month because it was very comfortable and relatively close from the city centre (20-25 minutes walk). The staff at reception is very helpful. The only thing is do remember to put the "Do not disturb" sign outside your door if you wish to have a lie-in or are getting ready as the cleaners are keen to do rooms early even on a weekend.
Top class hotel.
