Getting there:From the airport take the southern outlet (A1) towards Launceston. Follow the signs to the City Centre via Bathurst Street and turn right under the bridge into Cimitiere Street. Turn right at second traffic light and then left into Cameron Street at first traffic light. The Hotel Grand Chancellor is located at 29 Cameron Street.

An excellent hotel, very conveniently situated close to the CBD, Design Centre, Park and the Monkeys. Good quality room, excellent breakfast choices and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Only spent one night there, the room was comfortable and service good. The room service main meal was a little ordinary, althourgh the dessert was very nice. I would stay there again.
Friendly staff, great location, walking distance to shopping and only 20 mins walk from Cataract gorge. Room and bathroom good size and comfortable beds. Restuarant willing to adapt menu to suit us. Will definately stay here again.

The Grand Chancellor Hotel Launceston is a good quality hotel conveniently located in the centre of Launceston. Recommended for business or leisure stays.
Only stayed one night but happy the bed was comfortable and not to hard. Decor is now aging a little. Would stay there again.
The location was fantastic, close to all the shops. The two things we didn't like were the portable airconditioning unit in the room - very noisy so you couldn't run at night and it therefore got very hot, plus I loathe showers in baths with shower curtains. Give me a walk in glass shower any day!
Convenient location, and amazingly spacious room. Good kitchen. No problems at all during our stay.

Conveniently located to Central Launceston although far enough away to not have a noise factor. I liked the ability to be able to open a window - fresh air as opposed to contiinuous airconditioning. Buffet breakfast deal was pretty good $20 (instead of $23.50) for full breakfast continental and hot, if paid the night before.
I had stayed at this hotel just on 10 years ago. It needs a bit of an update, but the rooms are fine at the moment. It also needs a gym to keep up with other hotels. the location is fantastic and the price reasonable for what you get. I would be happy to stay there again.
Enjoyed the rooms, which were spotless and well appointed. Staff were very friendly and breakfast selection was excellent. Parking was adequate. Will certainly return the hotel.
The hotel locates within walking distance for most of the restaurants. If you are renting car from Avis, they have a service desk in the hotel lobby which makes it very convenient for you to collect or return your rental car. The building is a bit old but rooms are quite well furnish.
We chose the Grand Chancellor on line and were most impressed with our choice when we arrived. Easy to find, good parking at a reasonable rate, excellent room and very good hotel facilities. The Town and view spots are all within easy walk. We did not eat in but the choce looked first class and at reasonable cost. Staff were very helpful. A certain recommend and revisit for us should we hit Launceston again.

We thought the breakfast at $20 each was expensive until we looked around and realised it's fantastic value. Great room, fab breakfast.
