Grand Hotel Amelot Paris

Very friendly and helpful receptionist.

Room was clean as was the Hotel. Great location and staff were helpful. Continental breakfast was waitress served as opposed to buffet style which my wife and I appreciated.

Good value for money and good access to the metro . Will recommend for anyone looking for a good place to stay and not pay the earth for it.

Absolutely no regrets! The cooling and heating system could be improve but it was okay somehow. Location may not be on the main lines but the plus point is easy access. There is a really cheap but nice restaurant in the front parallel road rue Beaumarche somewhere to the left of the hotel that tourists should go for edible food ala chinese or Thai, it is in the middle of the block in front of hotel. Not superb but value for money and our guy was nice and not as some have complained!

1st impression-scaffolding & platforms facade. Room-pokey-2 DBs, cupboard, desk, chair & bench. Cupboard unuseable as cooler piped out of wall in front of cupb. doors & partly in front of the openable window which had electric security shutters that took approximately 10mins to start working. Bthrm-sufficient size but cnr shower-terrible. <90x90, with fixtures protruding out of the wall-don't bend down! Shw only glassed halfway from each wall leaving 1 cnr open with 2 narrow strips of plastic curtain. Water saturated floor when showering. Room safe-for a small fee. When we requested an iron it was provided but there was really only a lackadaisical interest in providing service. This is not a room to book for a long stay. Locationwise - great. Easy access to the Metro and well stocked grocery & good restaurants/cafes nearby. Location made up for so-so hotel facilities. Tolerate the facilities & you will find this location great value for money.

This was in a convenient site close to Metro and the Mairais. We found it easily. The staff were welcoming and helpful. It seemed good value for Paris and was clean and comfortable for our family of three.

The hotel is situated about 500 yrds from the Bastille. From the Bastille, metro number 1 takes you along the Seine to sights at Place de la Concorde,. Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe. Sunday Market at the Bastille. Local pub is the Bloody Mary where drinks are very rrasonable. However, the hotel is located in a and drink bills.Scooterville area and noises do range at various hours of the evening. Local supermarket shopping will cut down on food. Overall would stay there again if for a weekend break. Location at Saint Paul may be a better option if prices were reasonable.

The staff were friendly, once they warmed to you. A little problem with hot water but they weredo some refurbishing when I was there. The wifi is only downstairs and can be a little slow at times. Location was excellent. Would stay here again

Really nice, calm and quiet 2 stars hotel near Bastille and Marais. Nice big and clean room with 2 good beds (120 cm) and 4 star bathroom. Helpful and nice stuff. Much better than all the other (3 stars) hotels where I've been in Paris before!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, we were positively surprised, as we didn't expect such a great hotel for such a small price. The location was very good-5 minutes walking from 2 metro stations, the room was quite new,very well-kept and very clean. The only thing that we thought wasn't ok was one guy at the reception, as he seemed to be grumpy, but after visits in few french restaurants we noticed, that in general french people are grumpy, so the guys behaviour in the hotel wasn't unusual. I would really recommend this hotel !!!

A nice hotel near Bastille in the process of renovation. The room was clean, the bathroom big (by Paris standards) with a bath tub.

Close to the Bastille and Place des Vosges and its beautiful surronding area. Large bathroom.

Very nice hotel close to city centre and local bars and cafes. 15-20 minutes walk to the Seine and Notre Dame. Room was simple and basic but very clean and adequate to our needs. Staff were friendly and helpful. No breakfast included in price but ample bar/cafes close by. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Good, clean hotel. I get tripleroom instead of double. Staff speaks English, but there was a lot of problems in their service..In my room was the heater stucked, and it was very hot there. Staff said that this is broken,you will get another room tomorrow,when the manager arrives. But it was so hard to communicate with them so i decided to stay in my hot room. One day, they woke me up while having a nap, and shouted that i have to leave my rooom.Check in is over,but that was a mistake. Anyway i liked the hotel and i think i will book it again. It was nice and good price. Wireless internet was not free

While the price was good, I wasnt overly impressed with the hotel or its location. It was a bit of a walk to the main sights and down a street that I didnt feel comfortable walking down at night.

This is a good Paris 2 star hotel. Clean, if old rooms, and a reasonable location. Would stay there again.

I would stay in this hotel again. It is close to the train stations and underground. the room size was ok. The area seemed to be handy

The room that I booked for 4 people was very cozy. There was no curtain in the shower and the water in the bath tub did not drain fast. There was no internet in the hotel and it was difficult to find internet cafe around. The hotel was clean and the service was good. The location was very central, close to metro and we saved lot of time. I feel the price what I paid was a bit high. Over all it was good.
