Grand Hotel Amstelveen

Provides a very nice stay at excellent value if you don't mind being a bit out of town.

We could not have asked for better! The room was spotless and very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent - you could eat enough to stock up for the day if necessary! When I return to Amsterdam, I shall almost definitely stay at the Grand again. Although it's a little way out of the city centre, it is very well served by the no. 170 buses which run very frequently and this is also a splendid way of seeing some of the city en route.

Good adjoining tennis & 10 pin bowling facilities. Good resturant next to the hotel. Very pleasent and helpful staff.

A Good Hotel to stay, even thought the locations is a little bit away from the city.

Love this hotel. Very convenient to bus and tram to Amsterdm and the airport. The people who work here are sujper!

Very friendly staff

The staff are very helpful and the hotel is extremely good value for money. The only bad points are the location (unless you have a car), and the price of Internet access. Swisscom are charging E22/day!

Excellent hotel. Very big rooms. Very clean. Great value for money if you book early.

Breakfast is typically Dutch i.e. ham and cheese. Some warm food, but not enough to set up the typical English or Amercian for the day!

Excellent!!! If only all hotels were this "GRAND". Spacious room, bathroom with shower & bath and a separate wc. Free parking, opposite bus stop to city. Friendly staff, good breakfast.Great price. Faultless

A very good hotel just outside Amsterdam (approx 30 minute bus trip to city centre). Very welcoming and an excellent staff.

Hotel is a 45 minute bus ride from Amsterdam Central station. Buses run 24 hours which is great. Hotel was very smart and tidy. Room was enormous - A corner room on the 4th floor with two balconies. Nice to have a bath and separate shower. Buffet breakfast was good. Wide range of choice both hot and cold. Would definitely stay here again despite the location.

Hotel is not close to shops etc but on a good bus route to Amsterdam (ask for discounted books of tickets on bus as cheaper than those in hotel). Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Good selection of food for breakfast but a little short staffed.

Great hotel, reasonably priced. Large rooms and great breakfast. The only thing is that the ride with the Metro line 51 takes about 35 minutes to the city center (24 stops) and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the hotel from the stop. The buses was on strike when we stayed there, otherwise there is a busstop just across the street. Then we also have to take a train from the airport to Amsterdam Zuid and change to metro there and didn´t get an opportunity to try the bus 199 from the airport to the hotel.
