Sapporo Grand Hotel was established for accommodating politicians, leading business people. The hotel also used as a salon for local people. As the first western hotel in Hokkaido, we have been welcomed royal families and VIP's from overeas. Renovation of high floors in East building has been completed in June 2006. The main lobby and restaurants have also renewed in December 2006. Further more, Club floor, relaxation space and 15 deluxe rooms including suite have been added on 4th floor in main building. For dining option, guests can choose from 5 in-house restaurants and 3 bars. In Japanese restaurant, guests can enjoy authenic Japanese cuisine inspired by fresh Hokkaido preducts while over viewing Japanese garden. Check-in Procedure:Check in time: 15:00pm Check out time: 11:00am Japanese legistlation makes it mandatory that you, as a "non-resident foreign guest", present your passport and have it photocopied. we also ask our guests to fill the registration card as well as to provide whether credit card guarantee or deposit in cash. Luggage can be stored at bellhop desk if the guest arrives before room is ready.
Car parking:Multilevel car parking.(First come first serve base) 1,000yen for entire stay.
Child Policy:Child under 12years old is free of charge if shareing bed with parents. Breakfast is not included. Baby cots are available(1,733yen) limited numbers.
This is a nice hotel in an older building. It was clean and comfortable. A big plus is free WLAN internet. I would stay here again if in Sapporro.
The reception staff are able to converse in English and the front desk manager was particularly helpful. Great and comfortable hotel to stay in. The buffet spread for the morning breakfast was excellent! The local bus that takes tourists to the local sights stops at the front of the hotel. Good value for money.
The room facilities are a touch dated but are fine. An excellent hotel.
In general, a very good upscale hotel. A couple of minor gripes though. There were was no washing machines or laundrette for guests to do their own washing, and I had to pay 2000 Yen every time I wanted to use the gym. Great Hotel, good location, very friendly staff. Some rooms very warm, needed to open window to cool down, but would go back again any day.
Good hotel but, no breakfast made me feel a bit bad
The Sapporo Grand is a very good hotel, and the "last minute" rate which I paid offered excellent value, although it was not sufficiently special to entice me back if I had to pay the full price. It is very conveniently located, just a few blocks directly south and within easy walking distance of JR Sapporo Station.

Although the hotel has business center, but it will be more convenient for room guests if the hotel can offer Internet hook up in the room.
I stayed at the hotel based on other comments. My room was small. I had to pay extra if i needed the gym...there was in the end no benefit paying extra amount...my firend stayed nearby in business mans hotel and it was equivalent if not better for my holiday needs. If you are in Sapporo in business and have money to avail of restaurants/facilities then it is a good hotel
