Grand King Hotel Buenos Aires

Very good place in the heart of the city, with easy access to places of tourist interest. Cheap and good.

The hotel is perfectly located, you cant get much better. There are a lot of places to walk to, and many great restaurants surrounding the hotel. The staff are reasonably helpful. The breakfast is good.

The location of this hotel was excellent, but when we checked in (very late, due to a delayed flight) they tried to charge us, not knowing that as it was booked through hotelclub, I had already paid, and unfortunately the booking email I had printed out was in English and the duty manager did not speak English; and my Spanish was not up to this conversation/explanation in the middle of the night! However, we got there in the end, but it was not ideal to have to deal with this at one o'clock in the morning. Then the next morning, when our toilet did not work and our safe was locked (before we tried it), it took several trips to the front desk to get it all sorted (though the man at the front desk was doing his best and was particularly helpful with other things during our stay, whoever was supposed to be sorting the problem was not so helpful). The breakfast was disappointing too. I would not class this as a four star hotel--it looks like it used to be, but is not any more.

We stayed there 4 nights in Dec 2009, location is the best thing about this hotel. On the other hand breakfast, rooms, bathrooms and decor are very basic and I wouldn't say it offers good quality for the price we paid, it is a 2star hotel not a 4star,

We had a great stay in the hotel. All the rooms have just been re-furnished and were looking great. Location is very central and perfect for historic area and shop. Very impressed.

Hotel exceptionally situated. A good rate was received. Service with exception of the restaurant very good. Restaurant overall lacking. Would recommend as it is very well positioned and good value.

The location of this hotel is excellent. The staff is very helpful. The room we stayed was very small for the price and no view from the window but clean except for the bath towel which was dirty after the housekeeper cleaned the room. It was a little noisy where the room was located because of the elevator and near the housekeeper's room.

The price for an off-weekend stay was very acceptable, only USD 70 a night. We were upgraded to a higher standard room than we actually paid for, so I cannot really judge the standard of the original room. A very good breakfast was included, and a better location relative to the Florida shopping street would be hard to find for this price. You could walk to the Obelisco in 10 minutes, Plaza de Mayo in 10 minutes, and to the Recoleta district in 30 minutes. Our room was located next to the Lavalle street but it was very quiet.

Great location in the pedestrian area of Lavalle and 3 blocks away from the Obelisque (I stayed there 2 days and didn't need a taxi all along to visit BA, though it's true I like to walk) - My room had 3 single beds in it (!) but I am not too picky on that - Prices 50% cheaper on internet, so don't get there without a reservation made in advance - Internet available but you have to get downstairs (lobby or business center) to have access, and it isn't free (3 pesos per hour) - Great crew, very attentive to your needs - Breakfast included in price

A great location in the heart of Buenos Aires, close to sights and restaurants and good value at its internet booking rate. Its good and has pleasant staff, but its not quite as good as it should be for its 4-star rating. We booked a double bed room several weeks ahead but were told on arrival that only a twin was available. This was though put right the next day, however the same thing happened when we returned for a few nights at the end of our trip, though again we were given a double the next day. The air con (vital in summer) was erratic in some rooms.

The worst and tiniest room in my life - old smelly furniture Hotel charges $150 per night! However, location is great.

Great hotel. Service was fantastic and very reliable. We wish we had found this hotel for our first visit to Bueonos Aires. Location is great for exploring the city centre. Great rooms.

The hotel is perfectly situated for a first time visit to Buenos Aires. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is pretty good. The beds are a little soft and kind of short for a person over 182cm/6ft. Make sure U get a room facing Av. Lavalle , because these rooms seem to be larger and they also gets more sunlight then the rooms facing the atrium.

I am very happy with the Hotel

For the money, an excellent choice. Half a block a way from the main shopping street... close to all forms of transportation...breakfast was satisfying (although you don't get many forms of protein)... the hotel was clean and basic. It will satisfy all of your needs... If you are taking a computer, wireless internet can oly be used on the lobby level. Overall... a great find for the frugal traveller!!

Very good location in Lavalle - quiet. Public areas well maintained and clean. Rooms could do with renovation - carpets grubby, furniture worn, etc but were clean.

The hotel has a very good location in the centre of B.A. on a pedestrian street with plenty of shopping, restuarants, bars and internet cafes. Its lobby and common areas are nice. The standard rooms are furbished around 20 years ago, except for the bath rooms which are quite nice and big. Breakfast buffet is very good. Taking the price and the location into account, this is a good option.
