The hotel and staff were very helpful - they picked us up from the nearby airport and also took us into Nelson after we had unpacked. Stoke - a small town is 0.7Km away - Nelson is 8Km which I felt let our expectations down A LOT. No close bus route so its was hotel bus (on demand if available) or a cab or self-drive. The restaurant was excellent and not tooooo bad on price. A saving grace is a great English pub just on the other side of the road - happy hour prices and good value pub food. I would recommend staying here BUT don't expect to walk into Nelson!
Internet in the room did not work, shower had very low pressure and it took nearly an hour to fill the spa. The rooms and the setup is nice quite unique and you probably would not expect that from a big chain hotel. The resort is easy to find, lots of signposts. Overall a good stay for the price
An excellent room for a very good price, and with an amazing and huge luxury bath!
Very unusual but lovely complex. Would stay again. The restaurant serves beautiful food!
Excellent room providing luxury fittings and comfort. Will visit again
Very difficult to get to because of inaccessability from freeway and fair way from town centre.
This is a lovely low rise (2 story) hotel & apartment complex with the added charm of a central "village green" and a top notch restaurant. I stayed in a standard hotel room on the upper level and was very impressed with being able to open the windows and enjoy the breezes. It's a little difficult to find and is very near Nelson airport - providing some low level noise pollution but the planes are small and not too much of a disturbance. You need a car if you're going to stay here, as it's a bit out of the way but only a 10 minute drive to Nelson central. Not usually being a fan of hotel restaurants, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the a la carte breakfast I enjoyed 5 mornings (ubiquitous breakfast buffet is available @ NZ$18 - 28 as well) and the very good espresso coffee. I also had dinner there one night and it didn't disappoint. Very friendly staff top off this very pleasant experience in a lovely part of the world.
Very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely decore - very cosy Brittish feel! Loved every minute.
The location was a little isolated which made access to attractions awkward without using a vehicle. The accommodation was very nice, clean and reasonably priced. Staff were efficient but not overly friendly.
It is a very dificult place to find. It is out of town which requires you to drive to get anywhere. The room that we had was very well set up with a bedroom and a lounge. It was very comfortable however the view from the front of the hotel is of a beach with the tide out (nothing but grey sand)
very high quality accomodation at an affordable price
The restaurant service was not great.
The best motel I have ever stayed in.
We had a fantastic honeymoon. All expectations were met - everything was as promised on their homepage! Thanks for the very relaxing holidays!
Excellent location and decor. However the unit needed a microwave. There was a long wait fot the dryer as it was a shared facility.
A very nice stylish hotel, it is like new and I even got upgraded room. A+++
The hotel was a little way out of town which meant a short drive if you need to use shops etc. The room was small but very well furnished.
great place
Lovely accomodation, very attractive design, and plush rooms. Onsite restaraunt is great too. Staff were very friendly. Excellent!
Charming English village setting. Pleasant atmosphere and outstanding accomodations. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. The restaurant offered and elegant setting and a delicious dinner.
