I had a single room , 4 nights and the average night rate was around 59 pounds which for London is very good. The good: Location is excellent, 100 metres from Gloucestor Road Tube. Room very clean; Bathroom very clean. Supermarkets , fast food outlets just a few steps away. The perhaps "not so good" am I being a bit too critical given the cost? Well my room was the size of a cabin on a cruise ship. Very cramped. I did not get to see an actual twin room so maybe that standard is Ok. Staff are good to the extent of being a bit too rigid and formal, But that is much better than have unhelpful, rude staff. Internet: I am prepared to pay a little for Internet link but not at 10 pound for 24 hoursor 5 pound an hour!!! Starbucks around the corner has free WIFI. Would I stay again? Probably yes but depending upon the cost and getting a slightly bigger room. Ray(Adelaide)
This is the best London hotel I have stayed with using Hotelclub. The room was fabulous - large, full of character, high-ceilinged, great bed, wonderful pictures. The only downside was a tiny bath but, as I am finding, bathrooms in London hotels generally don't live up to the rest of the room. I will definitely try another Grange hotel in this chain. Within walking distance of the Tube, so great for getting around.
An interesting character hotel with a nice feel about it.A bit crumbly and old fashioned with smallish rooms but I was quite happy with it really.Very nice staff and in a good handy position.
We stayed for four nights and found the location absolutely ideal. We walked into the city one day and found it took about 45 minutes all up and at other times we used the tube which was just a short walk away. The room itself was nicely decorated and clean however it was extremely small. The bed however was very comfortable. All up we had a great stay and would use it again.
The room was extremely small and the breakfast overpriced. I was appalled to have to pay £1 to use the computer in reception, not becasue of the cost but because it gave the impression just how penny pinching the organisation was. We were also disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Saturday night, although there were plenty of other places to eat, it seemed an odd decision for such a hotel. I stay in a lot of hotels for work, and found these things rather petty. However, we did enjoy our stay.
As adevertised there was only parking in the streets near the hotel. All spaces were for permit holders only and when I asked about the parking restrictions around the hotel the answers from the reception were vague and proved to be inaccurate when I checked with the police - be careful! Furnishings were good for the discounted price but we were placed in a room in the basement and below the 24-hour reception and so you could hear footsteps through the night. We were also woken at 3am by people in the corridors as the rooms are not very soundproof. We were not asked when we left if we had a pleasant stay!
would definitely recommend this hotel- staff very helpful and ideal location
we needed somewhere to change before we could get our rooms and all we were offered was a room in full view of the road
Breakfast was awful, rooms were so small you could not have 2 suitcases open
Standard single rooms are extremely tiny, with very very limited storage space, meaning you have to live out of your suitcase, however, there is very liitle room to actually put your suitcase.
