Good value for price. Very nice breakfast. Excellent location for downtown Ghent.
A nice and clean hotel right in the old town center. My room was on the streetside and a tad noisy: outside it's bustling with tourists until late at night. The upside of that, of course, being wonderful cafés and restaurants right at your door. One thing: if you serve a great breakfast buffet like they do at Gravensteen's, don't spoil it with highly annoying (and loud) music in the breakfast room. Sadly, a lot of hotels have the same problem. Other than that, a short but fine stay.

Lovely romantic place in the heart of Ghent (which I much prefer over Bruges) We've stayed her several times and never been dissapointed. Some rooms are in a newer section, some in an older one - so you can choose accordingly.
The hotel is central and staff are friendly and helpful; when I had a problem with my room on arrival - no bathroom light! - I was found another room easily with no quibbling. The breakfast is good, served in a lovely light room. I would go again.
We stayed in the annexe, in a spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast is indeed huge, breakfast room is somewhat cramped
Nice location in a nice town.
The Gravensteen Hotel is ideally situated in the town centre which is one of my top selection criteria. However, it was difficult to plug my laptop to have internet connection at the hotel.
Nice hotel, almost in the centre of the old city.
Hotel position and staff were excellent.
Very good location. Close to everything but quiet. The staff was very helpful.
The concierge/receptionist (I can't recall his name) was five-star in his helpfullness and professional courtesy! Absolutely excellent. Ghent is a logistical nightmare to navigate and he clearly mapped out my exit from town. Loved the city and the hotel but no hotel can be sensibly located in this medieval town. The Gravensteen, however, is within a block of the Castle which does give it a good location. Please see Ghent but take a train not a car!
Gravensteen Hotel in Ghent was great. Dus to the location, the room and the rate we had a very pleasant time in Ghent. Also the fact that we could park our car in the premesis of the hotel for the full lenght of our stay (also after check out) was super.
I enjoyed my stay very much . Very central to everything ,all in walking distance. Breakfast very nice and the staff very helpful and informative. Would recommend it to anybody.
Good hotel with an excellent location near the castle in the center of the city, helpful staff, big and nice breakfasts, very clean and pleasant rooms, althought the matresses and pillows can be a little worn. In general a very satisfying choice.
