Grosvenor Hotel Timaru

I enjoyed my stay at the Grosvenor.

The facilities were good however the rooms were far too small and substandard. Bad condition.

This hotel rooms need an upgrade.Though rooms clean it looks dingy.The dining area is very nice

A bit dissapointed with the two single beds pushed together to make a doulble, there was a rail down the centre of the bed (very uncomfortable).Also were not told of the extra cost because the room was a theme room,otherwise not too bad.

Hotel itself good value for money and included a decent breakfast .Our double room needed a bit of a facelift [bits of wallpaper off walls etc ]but bed comfy and nice bathroom .Good location and parking .

Even though this Hotel is in the process of being 'made over', the staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Good rates and location. Fantastic huge bed and 'fun' theme rooms made the staff most enjoyable.

fantastic bar and restaurant. Very good, friendly service. Rooms quite old but have been refurbished a few years ago. Had much trouble getting the shower water temperature right. and the toilet flush button almost impossible to push in.

very convenient location, all seemed OK and clean and comfortable for an inner city hotel. The only odd thing was they didn't expect to issue a receipt on payment of the bill on arrival.

A bit run down now. Room was large and clean but very 70's. Needs some money spent on the bathroom and decor in general.Good car parking.

This hotel is really cosy to stay in, friendly staff and the price is really good. I would go back there.

Really really noisy until at least 3am. Definitely not somewhere to stay with children

A charming hotel that has been upgraded tastefully. Rooms were quiet and the breakfast was a full service NZ fare in pleasant surroundings. Speights Ale House was close and an excellent place for a relaxing dinner.

Standard of food has deteriorated over previous stays,but service is very friendly.

the bed was excellent. The hotel was in a quiet street and there wasn't any noise from the bar. The hotel is an old one but the rooms were comfortable and the bathroom quite modern. The staff were friendly.

Probably the best hotel in New Zealand where I have stayed so far.. Lovely Victorian feel to the building in a somewhat tired area of Timaru.where there were a number of other obvious Victorian buildings in need of at least a coat of paint. Loved the warm glowing interior...surprised there were not more guests.Even had an old style lift with a lattice metal sliding inner door. Very impressed with the room..very spacious though the obviously newer bathroom had a cracked bath...

It was made even better by the fact that The Canterbury Crusaders were also stopping there for their rugby match against The Natal Sharks!

Lovely hotel in an beautiful building. Service was great. It is above a pub/bar which we were not aware of before booking in - but it never bothered us. Very large rooms.
