Grupotel Gravina Hotel Barcelona

After reading some mixed reviews, we were pleasantly surprised and absolutely thrilled with our hotel. The location couldn't have been better and the breakfast was fabulous every morning. If you wanted a more American breakfast there was cereal, yogurt, breads, muffins, bacon and eggs. if you wanted a European style breakfast with cured meats, cheese and vegetables, that was available too. We were never rushed even when we arrived late and the front desk staff were also very courteaous and efficient. They helped us buy tickets, gave us directions and printed our boarding passes. The room was spotless and the bathroom was beautiful marble. We would recommend this hotel as a great find for budget minded people who want a great base for exploring Barcelona.

Great location, friendly personal, old fashioned hotel except for the entrance

The staff were friendly, helpful & gracious. The location superb. I would be happy to return there and highly recommend them!

Everything was very good except the noise from adjacent rooms and the fee for using the in-room safe. The cleaning girls made an excellent job keeping the room in mint condition!

A clean modern hotel close to Placa Catalunya and the University - easily reached by public transport + a short walk and in a (long) walking distance of the Old City and Gothic Quarter. Expensive for the size of the room but probably due to location. Friendly and helpful staff. Bar food in the evening - but not necessary as there are plenty of tapas bars and restaurants round about. Free Wi-Fi in the rooms.

The Hotel is very good located, the stuff is very friendly but the rooms are very small.

I like Groupotel Gravinabecause of its cleanliness, kind behaviour of its servicers especially those working on the front desk. Also its localization is in the centre of old barcelona and very close to metro so it is very easy to go around for shopping, sightseeing or just for a walk at La Rambra.

Convenient location, just a few min walk from the airport shuttle drop off.

This hotel is very near to the the Ramblas and to a metro station. We were welcome with a glass of cava and had a very pleasant time there. We recommend it.

The room was very small and there was lots of noisy saturday night. But the room was very clean and the hotel is very well situated.

The hotel was very clean with friendly staff. Room was small, but that's to be expected in Europe. Bathroom was larger than expected, though. Pricing was typical to slightly better than typical. Location was good...just a short two blocks from the western end of La Rambla, which was great. Street was quiet, which was good for sleeping. Only negative...literally 15' from the front door of the hotel on our first night there, my husband was pick-pocketed. Obviously, that's not the hotel's fault...just want to warn all tourists. If someone approaches you and seems very friendly, gets close, and offers you something (like tickets to a strip club!), look out.... they're after your wallet! Loved Barcelona and the hotel was overall pretty darn good.

I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is in an excellent position, a quiet side road near the metro. Breakfast was very good, staff pleasant and we were offered a glass of Cava on arrival. We had been upgraded and if we had not then the room would have been very small indeed. The rooms lack soundproofing, our toilet cistern continually refilled, this was reported and not repaired. Apart from this a nice place to stay.

The hotel is really convenient for all tourist sites. Parking is 50 metres away. The bedroom are very nice , tastefully decorated and we , even had a terrasse!!! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was 4 stars. really enjoy staying there and will use the hotel again.

a bit hard with heavy luggage when you are on the second section of the hotel. wish thre was only one elevator (lift) that would service ll floors.

Good hotel for the good price. Good located at the smoll quiet street, near the metro. Plaza Catalunia in 5 min walk. Inglish speaking staff. The brekfest is expensive so use nearby cafes (Starbucks for example).

Great location, just far enough from the hustle & bustle of La Ramblas for peace and quite, but close enough to immerse oneself into liveliness of Barcelona

A great central place to stay when visiting Barcelona. Champagne upon arriving and another bottle given at breakfast (50th birthday) Superb service all round.

Great location - close to the top of Las Ramblas, but surprisingly quiet. A clean well layed out hotel with friendly helpful staff. I was greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival. I was provided a 50% discount for breakfast for one morning. Had I not had this voucher I would not had eaten breakfast here as it was a little pricey. I would recommend this hotel to others.

ok, so the room was a bit small, but its not for living in is it. The location was great, just around the corner from the underground and a short walk from the top of the Ramblas. Staff were freindly and helpful. Breakfast was expensive, but drinks and snacks at the bar were not. If i return to Barca, i would definatley revisit this hotel.
