This is a lovely little hotel conveniently located in the Rocks district. We enjoyed our stay there and willl return in the future. Staff were very polite and helpful, food at breakfast was excellent.
Absolutely fantastic location - so close to everything. Older style hotel but has everything. The Heritage room we stayed in was small and situated at the rear of the hotel which backs onto restaurants and beer garden. We found it noisy around 5.00am - 6am when places were setting up for the days trade or emptying recycling bins full of glass bottles. Ask for a room at the front or higher up. Apart from that it is a great place to stay and staff very friendly.

Nice friendly hotel in a great location. Lovely and quiet also - best night's sleep we've had in a hotel in The Rocks. Only criticism is we had to carry our bags up two flights of stairs - only to discover a baggage lift no-one told us about!! We used it in the morning on the way out.
The service at this hotel was excellent; the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The housekeeping was very good, every day on our return to the hotel the room had been serviced with great detail. The best thing of all, it was so quiet and peaceful; and the bed so comfortable, enjoyed a good night's sleep every night we stayed there! I would definitely recommend this hotel and we would love to go back. Only one slight problem was the meal in the evening was not quite up to scratch, I understand they had a slight problem over the w'end with staff, but that can happen from time to time. Overall we were very happy indeed! Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.
Great location, but my room stank like moth balls. Couldn't get rid of the smell. (apparently they had just sprayed the rooms) I think this hotel is a little over priced, but still ok.
We booked the ghost tour. Loved the Hotel, the breakfast was amazing. My only complaint would be the noise from the surrounding pubs but other than that a totally enjoyable stay.
Great hotel. only hassle is no lift (except for a small luggage lift)
Best location in the Rocks area, bit noisy but you would expect this in such a livley area.
great location, very friendly staff..will be back again !
This very charming hotel is situated on Harrington Street and is close to both Circular Quay and Wynyard stations. It has a fascinating history, even sporting a ghost named Eric! On arrival I was given an upgrade so that my room had a view of Sydney Opera House and glimpses of Circular Quay. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The room was spartan but had everything you needed. The bathroom was pint sized (you could fit it in a walk-in cupboard) with just enough room for a shower, basin vanity unit and toilet. Only gripe was it had a very noisy air conditioner and also, I was unable to close my window - the frame was bowed due to age- so that all the noise of a pub close to hand wafted up well into the wee small hours. Not the best night's sleep:( The self-serve buffet breakfast was well laid out in a pleasant downstairs room. Would certainly recommend this establishment to all my friends as value for money.
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable hotel in an excellent location for visiting Sydney and its beautiful harbour.
Very helpful service. Upgraded the room which was a nice surprise on check-in.
We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago, and returned to it for our recent trip. It is very well placed for a short stay in Sydney, and we would go there again if we returned to Sydney.
We were very happy to spend our 21st Wedding Anniversary at this Hotel, the original Sydney Hospital! Although we didn't meet the resident ghost! It was a pleasant walk to an array of cafes, pubs, shops, restuarants and nothing beats Sydney Harbour!.
I great hotel in an excellent position. Close to transport and sites. Only one thing, make sure you can find it as is tucked away if do not know area.
Our room was on the ground floor, right on the pavement and the opposite side of the Harbour view and some noise could be heard from the street. However, location was fantastic and room very spacious so no complaints
Fantastic staff and service, rooms on the small side and bathrooms are tiny, but location is perfect if you are a fan of the Rocks!
Hotel is old and has a bad smokers smell about it. It is well cleaned
The rooms are on the small side due to the fact this is a heritage listed building and they cannot be altered. The hotel is convenient for everything in the rocks area. Parking is a problem if you are driving , as they do not have a parking area or drop off area
If you wish to stay in the Rocks area of Sydney this hotel is in an excellent position. Room very comfortable and clean.
