The Hearton Hotel in Kyoto is in a great location. The staff are friendly and always helpful. It was ok value for money. Would recommend to anyone.
The hotel was in a great location right near the subway. At such a reasonable price it was clean and well equipt. The buffet breakfast which was not included in our accomodation was well worth paying for before a day of exploring this lovely city.
Nice hotel. Good location and good price. Double room compact. Twin is better size.
very comfy rooms and nice hotel. Close to all the amenities, especially to the manga museum-highly recommended if you like manga books !
Pleasant stay free use of push bikes was a bonus
close to subway, good location.
room was a little small, but overall it was a pleasant experience
Rather small rooms and walls are thin, so lots of noise from other rooms... Breakfast was super and nice location very close to subway.
Good location, clean rooms. Twin size is OK but double is more like a single. This is how it is in Japan. Twin rooms has safety box but double dosnt. There is coin laundry which is a plus and free iron also vending machines in each floor hotel staff friendly and proffisional
Small room but quite adequate. Great central location close to the easy to use Subway system. Would stay again.
The service is very good, as to be expected in Japan. The rooms are small - again, be expected in Japan. Free Internet access. They have self service laundry stations (washers & dryers). Hotel is just round the corner from one of the exits (I think it's Exit #1) of the main Karasuma-Oike subway interchange station but because the entrance is along a small street, best to ask for directions. Many 24-hr convenience stores in the vicinity.
It had a great central location in Kyoto and the rooms were small but clean and had everything you needed for a few days. It was a very reasonable price for such a good hotel.
We enjoyed the hotel. The lobby was nice and the room was more than adequate for a budget hotel in Japan. It was also nice to have free bikes (although the bikes were quite terrible). One great thing about the hotel wasn't about the hotel - it was a Sake bar around the corner called Yoramu - it was a wonderful experience.
We really enjoyed our stay. The service was exceptional. Check in was at 2pm, we were able to park our car and leave bags before checking in. This was very helpful. Also, the western buffet breakfast was real value for money. We loved the fact that we could hire bikes and umbrellas for free. The only downside was that the doona was a little hot for summer but the air-con was good.
I didnt really like the service they gave me, and they didnt speak very good english, some staff barely any... the location is quite off a bit from everything, considering Kyoto is "the walking city" but the subway is only a few minutes away, the hotel is down an alley which makes it hard to find (look for the street with vending machines in front, this is how we found it every night)... there are no good restaurants nearby, you have to travel... These factors make the price not the best... They do provide free bike rental(which you need because its so far from anything) and free internet on level 2 which was nice. Btw, If anyone finds a hotel in Japan that isnt superclean, they are soo unlucky!
The hotel is very near the subway station. You just have to know where you are standing/facing (north, south, east, west). The hotel is behind the Nichocon bldg. (hope I got the name right) and is on the street to your left when you see Lawson on the right across the street.
Location was good as I was on foot and also accessable for transport. The reception staff did try and help with my questions with directions although some of the staff did have limited english. The room was clean and tidy although small - its seems to be standard though for the price although it was a little bigger than another hotel I stayed at in Tokyo. Would be an idea to a tour service availabe to assist with local sites and attractions
It's easy to miss hotel when leaving subway. Website should have better instructions on how to get to hotel from subway system. Room was a little cramped but acceptable since you're not going to spend a lot of time in your hotel room in Kyoto. Amenities and facilities commensurate with cost for hotel.
