100 year old building that started as luxury apartments and is now an upscale hotel. Next to convention center, walkable (tho not really close) to most DC attractions. I was warned on checking in of construction across the street and offered an inside facing room with less noise (which I took). They also asked if I wanted a work desk. The room included earplugs none the less (not needed). Unlike many chains, still has ceramic mugs for coffee in the room. Comfortable bed and accommodation in a smallish room. Promotional price made it a fantastic value.
The Henley Park is a charming building with comfortable rooms and helpful staff, strategically located between the Convention Center and the eastern end of K Street.
The staff was very polite and helpful. They allowed us to check in a little early which was nice. They were very efficient. The room was a bit smaller then most standards rooms but that is probably because it is a historic hotel. Still good enough for 2 people to be in comfortably. The property was very nice and gave an atmosphere that added to the history of the city. The hotel was not to far from trains that took you anywhere in the city you wanted to go so a car was not necessary for us. There was construction going on in the street but that didn't bother us because our day started at 6:30am. The hotel provided ear plugs for those who were light sleepers and not familiar with city noises at night. Over all, we would stay in the hotel again and I thought that it was a perfect location/ environment to go with the theme of learning about our capital city's history. It is also just a short walk from Chinatown where you can find good food for good prices.*(not Just Oriental Food.)FYI: there is no pool if you are expecting one but there are so many things to do around town that you won't have time for a pool.
I visited my daughter, who lives a few blocks away. We endured the worst heat wave EVER-but my hotel room was cool and comfy! My only advice is to post a sign regarding how to activate the shower..a little challenging.
The good: Very friendly, accommodating staff. The bed, pillows, and comforter were extremely comfortable. The room included a small safe, a small fridge, and a flat-screen TV. It was hot during our visit, and thankfully the air conditioning worked very well. They provided us with two bottles of water every time the maid came - a nice touch. The hotel is within walking distance of the national mall. There is a liquor store 2 blocks away and there is a Whole Foods about a 15 minute walk away. The bad: The room was smaller than expected, and the view out the window was non-existent. Plan on eating your meals elsewhere, because the prices in the hotel restaurant were exorbitant.
We went to Washington to have a fourth of july fun time and for our anniversary. The town was packed but fun. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly but boy do they get you. They give valet parking but do not inform you that it costs close to $38.00 per day, and then they take out of your bank a charge of $60.00 in case you use their room bar. They charged us twice for the parking thinking we were not going to pay them, but we did, in cash. They still did not renig on the withdrawal and it has been three days. It was a good trip if you don't count the loss of $120.00!
My room was small but clean. It was extremely noisy due to construction next door.
Beautiful hotel and the staff at reception were excellent! Very professional service and went out of their way to help us where possible. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Great location for a tourist wanting easy walking access to the major tourist areas in Washington.
Very good, clean hotel with attentive staff. Room was perfect, location was good, bar and restaurant were great for a quiet drink and bite to eat.
Well located within easy walking distance of the main DC attractions.
Nice historic hotel with magic atmosphere. Relativly narrow rooms. Breakfast is not included into room price. Car parking will be charged in addition. They have lounge concerts in the evenings.
Would rate this European-style boutique hotel higher if it weren't for the traffic noise and noise from the adjacent construction site. Because I read on line about the noise problem I was able to book a room on the opposite side of the hotel but guests should specifically request rooms far away from the noise which starts around 6:30am and continues 'til 5:30, sometimes on Saturdays. The other mini-problematic service issues was that there was no clear marking where the switch for the thermostat was (an unlabeled on-off light switch a few feet above the thermostat). Otherwise, a very lovely hotel.
Its a very nice hotel ,friendly satff and location is very good ....Valet Parking in the hotel is expensive around 30 $ a day ....There is construction going on nearby ,so we woke up at 7 am with the endless noise of drilling etc.....
Although the hotel is not in the centre of town (it is in a business district) it did have beautifully furnished room, excellent service and is a short walk to Chinatown and other restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay there.
Lovely "find" in Washinton. Great atmosphere and exceptionally well taken care of and clean. Wished they had told me ahead of time that they really didn't have a proper business centre on site -- only one computer with virus' across the road! I would have brought my laptop if I had known.
Location is not great - some of the streets near by were a bit concerning but not majorly scary. Hotel itself is quite nice and metro is walking distance. Staff were friendly but between two people were unsure of nearest net cafe. Not a huge thing but the kind of thing front desk staff really should know. Apart from that my room was comfortable and rate was quite good for this standard of hotel.
Clean and spacious rooms. Courteous staff and well located. Facilities a bit lacking with a walk required for internet services and for laundry.
Very nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay.
Morton, was fantastic and allowed us to check in early, which was much appreciated after all night on a train with no sleep. He really made our stay that much better.
