RatesToGo totally let me down. When I got to the hotel there was no record of the booking RatesToGo claimed to have made, the hotel was fully-booked and I was due to go out to meet business contacts. I called RatesToGo but they seemed pretty incompetent. I handed my phone to the Hilton staff and they asked RatesToGo for the booking confirmation number which for Hilton should began with a 3 but they kept supplying a different number which was not a Hilton confirmation. In the end, the manager intervened and magicked up a twin room and I was able to go out and enjoy my evening so Hilton 10/10 - RatesToGo 0/10. Extremely disappointed with RatesToGo and will never use them again.
excellent location but adjacent car park ver y expensive even for hotel guests
Always stay here when I visit London, love the hotel & the Location. We were over seeing a show in the West End, only £15 for taxi to Covent Garden, or tube just down the street. Great bars and restaurants all along Upper Street and a short walk from Emirates Stadium. There were 4 of us in 2 twin rooms, which were upgraded without asking, free of charge. Both big rooms.
This is a very fine Hotel. I stayed for just one night. The food is excellent, I had room service and the food was hot and promptly delivered. The best part of the hotel was the staff, who are obviously well trained and very friendly. I will stop here again if I can get the £85.00 inc breakfast and vat rate again.
When we first arrived, the air conditioning in our room wasn't working. The staff sent someone up immediately to confirm it was broken. The staff was extremely apologetic, and during the 10 minutes it took them to assign us another room, they sent up free drinks of our choice. The staff was always VERY friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.
We were initially worried when given the first room off reception as we feared that it would be small and noisy however once again, the hilton did not let us down. Room was good size and totally silent. We had everything we needed in the room and the staff at the hilton are always pleasant, efficient & mannerly. The hotel is perfectly situated on Upper St in Islington, which is a thriving area full of shops & bars
This hotel is was conveniently located for us, but the building is rather tired, dated & stuffy, so not the standard I would expect Hilton to put it's name to.
A fabulous hotel right in the heart of Islington. It is close to the Angel station which made getting around very convenient. I would definitely stay there again.
Staff very friendly.
Expensive wi-fi in the room (£15 - cheaper going to Starbucks!) but otherwise excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff.
Wonderful hotel in excellent location! Cannot wait to stay here again!
When we arrived at approx. 5.00 pm we found the room very cold and unfriendly and had to put on the electric heater to warm it up since there were no instructions as to how to turn up the central heating. I personally was very cold in bed and to my surprise there were no additional blankets in the room. The next morning I was also surprised to find no shower gel in the bathroom and had to ring down to have some delivered up. Also only two Everyday Tea Bags which I would have thought was most people's choice of brew.
Excellent - Value for money
The reception staff and concierge were excellent, but the breakfast service was appalling. Pure Keystone Cops in it's execution, we endured a 30 minute wait for a table only to discover there was no orange juice or butter avaialble. A pot of tea brought to the table with no sugar, milk or spoons, etc. Staff were running around like headless chickens.
It is worth having an executive room, as the executive lounge has check in & out facilities, and complimentary snacks, drinks & breakfast.
A real gem of a place in the heart of the bussle of Islington.
I've stayed in this Hilton before and this time I found the Customer Service vastly improved - everyone was excellent at every level, from receptioon to the prson delivering my room service to someone who rang to see if everything was allright with my room.
Outdoor tables and chairs not always clean. Staff needed to be reminded to clean table.
Excellent service and attention.
convenient for Saders Wells theatre
