Holiday Inn Cairns

We enjoyed our stay. Walking distance to dining and shopping.

Excellent facilities

The hotel is on good location and offers reasonable good facilities, hotel staffs are provided good services.

Quite noisy in the room which faces the street. Others are quite good

The position is very central and within walking distance to restuarants along the Esplenade. Rooms are large, clean and staff very helpful. Free Wi-Fi should however be included in this price as most overseas hotels include this as standard.

I went down to book a table at the restuarant and asked for the bottom section as Dad has to use a walking frame.. No problem.. Organised for the al acarte menu as obviously Dad can't get up & down to the buffet.. Only to be told on arrival that we can't have it.. Only the buffet.. After a discussion they gave us a limited menu to pick from.. not impressed especially as they were taking room serie orders from the extesive menu??? The service in the restaurant was very poor.. We had to organise our own drinks, no glasses were cleared.. it was like we didn't exist. I also feel that when I use (website) I end up with the worst located room.. for the 3rd time I have been in the room next to the lift.. and my view was the roof of the driveway entrance

It is a very lovely hotel. It is nice and close to the CBD and the strand. The staff were most helpful.

i was highly impressed overall with my stay in the holiday inn. the staff were very hospitable, and always more than willing to help out. the room was fabulous-very big and spacious,. there was a wide range of services laid out clearly. i would highly recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. the food was also of high quality.

Much space in the room with great ocean view, big pool; gym could be better equipped; we would stay again in this hotel when coming back to Cairns

A strong smell of smoke, being non smokers we felt this was very poor, when we returned from our day out, our room was in the middle of being serviced which was quite late, which was disappointing having to wait for the maid to finish, it must have been 6pm when we got back

excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff, great value for money. will definately stay there again. we spent and extra $20 per night to get the ocean view room which was well worth it. clean and comfortable

The location is good and about a 15 minutes' walk along The Esplanade to the Reef Fleet Terminal. It is very close to the restaurant and market.

My only comment is that it was a little older than I had expected.

Twin room requested. Allocated spacious room with two double beds. Very good value.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a great central location, the restaurant has a really nice buffet dinner and the cocktails in the bar were delicious. The only improvement I would recommend is that the pool area be redesigned and landscaped to make it more attractive.

I liked rain-forest atrium in the hotel very much. It was very nice place to have a drink.

Ocean view with balcony rooms are excellent they have a great view and give you a laid back relaxing type of feeling which is what most people are looking for on a holiday.

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were also able to ask questions regarding the area and the sights and they were answered promptly and intellegently. The rooms were a little small, which could have been due to the curved shape of the building itself. All was in walking distance to downtown, to the wharf and to shopping. We had a great time!
