Holiday Inn City Centre Christchurch

Friendly and helpful staff. Shuttle driver was especially helpful in orienting us to Christchurch. We were able to store luggage while away on a tour - a very helpful option. Proximity to the airport was a plus. Food in the restaurant was excellent but would have like a few more choices. Would certainly recommend to anyone.

Great place in a great spot. We needed 2 rooms, so they put them together without a problem. Good size rooms.

This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Christchurch. The beds are so comfortable, and the room we enjoyed had a lovely view over the city. The room was perfectly clean, nicely decorated, and had all you would expect for an enjoyable long weekend. We love staying at Holiday Inn's in New Zealand

Zaks Restaurant Food was Excellent. Hotel Facilities could do with some refurbishment. Found front desk staff service to be a little below average.

Very good hotel in the city centre with excellent service.

It is good for a business visit, however for the leisure travel, it doesn't have too much of facilities.

Helpful staff

The service was good and the staff were helpful. The best feature perhaps was that we were permitted to check in early and the check out time was 11 am which made things more comfortable.

We found the service to be friendly and helpful. Room was large with all the necessary fittings and services - Internet, mini bar and tea making equipment. Location is very pratrical in the center of the city. Only one down side was the noise from the night clubs in the area on Friday and Saturday nights which went on until the small hours in the morning.

There were some issues during my stay. There was no compendium in my room and when I requested one it did not arrive. My request for extra coathangers was like dialing another country!The person in housekeeping didn't understand the request and I had to spell it out to her.There were some other issues too which I mentioned on the Guest Feedback Card on departure. I received a very sincere letter back showing that indeed my concerns had been taken seriously. I am impressed by this and it makes me want to go back because OVERALL this hotel represents VERY GOOD VALUE for money in an excellent location.I am going back this year and I look forward to my secong stay...this time in an Executive Room although the room I had last week on the 9th floor was more than roomy for just oneself.

This is a great central city hotel. Well priced over the internet and a clean and comefortable place to stay. Staff are friendly. Rooms have been upgraded and it is a good 4 star Holiday Inn style hotel. Recommend it.

Our huge 13th floor apartment suited our needs and was spacious and comfortable. Hotel is well positioned in the heart of city. Service was okay but not exceptional. Rooms a bit tired with some maintenance needed and carpet decor tired. One major annoyance was the external airconditioning units which were on timers. These sounded like helicopters on the roof and switched on late night and early morning. Not sure I will visit again

Great location and ideal for any sort of break, we only stayed for one night but will happily stay much longer next time.

Room was very nice and bed linen especially nice. The restaurant food was not good - didn't seem to be as described on the menu and was not especially cheap. Few people were dining there which perhaps should have been an indication. Room service breakfast was pretty average apart from the danish pastries which were really nice. Coffee and juice tasted cheap.

We stayed three nights and found the hotel to be very convenient, clean and well run. Room was comfortable, as was the bed and we slept well. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good restaurant. Easy walking to tourist attractions. Enjoyed our stay.
