We came during absolute peak season and lucky to find this room. They upgraded us to a suite. Staff super friendly. Cons: No balconies
The hotel was excellent but the only problem is the front access - stairs only and no ramp for bringing up heavy baggage. However the staff were very helpful and lugged our heavy bags for us.
We were very impressed with the Holiday Inn Esplanade Darwin. We couldn't have had a better reception. The room was beautifully services each morning. A jug of complementry milk was provided as well a a news paper. We felt quite at home. I would go so far as to say if wasn't very good.......it was excellent. We would be more than happy to stay with them again. In fact we didn't want to leave. Thank you for organising our stay.
The hotel is very conveniently situated and has has a beautiful outlook across the harbour. Handy to shopping, transport, churches and restaurents etc. Well appointed, with a very helpful staff.
Very clean hotel & the staff were very attentive. Pool bar & restaurant were fantastic.
Place is a little bit dated but clean and very friendly staff. It's at the end further away from the nightlife when you walk across to Mitchell St. Used it as a base for catching the Ghan train the next morning and it worked very well in this regard. Overall, good value and would stay there again.
We stayed in this Hotel eight nights and enjoyed the service from happy helpful staff within the hospitality and front desk areas and they could not do enough for us. The only down side was our room carpet needed a thorough vacuuming as we found lolly papers, fluff, and bobby pins (hair clips) from past occupiers under our beds. We had a large room with two large Queen sized beds, table and one chair, fridge, television and phone plus a good sized bathroom with both shower and full size bath. Used items were replaced daily, and on two occassions we requested our room to be cleaned on return from our outings after 3pm, due to us displaying the do not disturb sign until 11am. Yes we would definitley stay at this hotel again.
My husband and I found the hotel comfortable and quiet. The staff were rather 'amateur', particularly in the hotel's Sirrocco Restaurant, however, their friendly and pleasant attitude made up for their lack of ??training. The food was of a high standard.
Good location on Esplanade in CBD - staff friendly and service-oriented. Business centre better than some - though at $5 for 30min, a bit pricey for computer use (even if internet included). Poolside good, with drinks and food. Room cleaning was good, friendly and efficient, though chairs stained and needing re-upholstering. Not really worth $200 a night, but that is Darwin. Okay in its market.
Excellent location and good deal
they don't service rooms at all if you don't ask them to service your room
fantastic staff - we were then in a cyclone-staff were fabulous and couldn't do enough for us
the staff in particular the night shift were very helpfull i checked in and out at 2am they made me feel welcome and respected top marks to the front desk night shift
The food served in the dining room was below standard
Easy group check in and efficient service for our late arrival. Rooms were spacious and very clean.
we only checked in then checked straight out to the holiday inn darwin next door. you cant stay in darwin without a balcony, at the esplande you couldnt even open the window, it wasn,t good, but next door was great
Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, quiet, great location, convenient parking (free), great swimming pool, good breakfast. The only thing that I could fault was the size of the bed, looked like a double bed, queen or king size would have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and would not hesitate to stay in the same place again.
Great view of the sunset over the harbour Very fast and tasty room service Lovely pool
We had two rooms and the air conditioning was inadequate in the first one. The second time, the room had the air con turned on before we arrived and was more comfortable.
