One of the best Holiday Inns I have stayed at. Modern-clean and a very friendly/ helpful staff. Wish my stay could have been longer. Pretty exhausted after overnight flight and although 10.30a.m. aroom was found straightaway. River and town 5 minutes away by taxi.
Melia Gaia Hotel Porto is very good value for money! Nice food and nice view too, and the tube station and El Cortes Inglés is in the near of the hotel.
first class hotel with style!
Hotel facilities are up to expectation. Car parking is free and plentiful. The reception on the check-in date was not as nice as the rest.
Excellent hotel, pleasant staff and reasonably priced. A bit out of the way, but taxis are relatively cheap.
Very nice hotel, the room was big, the bed huge. The parking access can be a bit confusing however. A special mention to the breakfast buffet which was very good.
has no pool and in a non descript part of town. easy to get into town centre by overground. 20 mins
very nice (standard) rooms and in a pleasant area. hotel has connecting rooms for families, which was great. We were disappointed that the pool is not included in the reservation price - it is a spa. breakfasts were good but wouldn't eat in the restaurant again
First class hotel with nice view and excellent rooms.
We stayed at the Melia Gaia in may 2007. The Hotel is lovely, the rooms spotless, the breakfast delicious. The only down side is that the hotel is quite a way out of town, if you like to walk. We walked into Porto which took about half an hour but to walk back it is up a steep hill. The reception was very helpful and getting taxis was easy, they cost about 4 euros to the riverside. The architecture in Porto is amazing especially if you wander the side streets, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone with mobility problems, the streets are uneven and so steep. We went on a boat cruise which was nice but no commentary in englsh , so buy a guide book first so you know what you are looking at. We used the metro from the airport which was only 5 euros compared to 25 euros by taxi.
excellent hotel, let down by a lack of a pool , concrete beds and the need to take the metro into the historical part of the city ( 30 mins ).
