Holiday Inn Townsville

This hotel has recently been refurbished and it is a significant improvement. Bed was very comfortable and well appointed.

Good location, good accommodation, clean comfortable, great breakfast service, rooms have been refurbished. Only 'complaint' is the shower doors don't seal so the bathmat ends up sodden. Recommended if you require a central location from which to do buisness.

Whilst i enjoyed my stay i couldnt access the pool due to cyclone damage. Given the heat in March I did miss it

Good price for what you get. Rooms refurbished and clean. Lovely modern feel with pillow choice, mini bar. In city central across from Cowboys Leagues Club and up from Cinemas. Problem is a lot of roadwork in Mall at moment but still worthwhile. Parking is extra. Lovely staff. Breakfast is worth a look because of variety but bacon is rubbery and broiled which spoils English Breakfast thing. All round good value for money.

Nice hotel in centre of town. Unfortunately road works were being carried out and makes parking terrible. Beds are comfortable and the breakfast was nice. We went down for Father's Day so was more expensive as there was football on the night before as well. Overall all a nice experience and would recommend.

I had an upper floor upgraded room, great bed, comfortable and stylish appointments and decor. Staff friendly and helpful. Id stay here again ..

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is clean, spacious and within walking distance to major attractions. I will definitely go back!

Good value and reasonable quality. Well priced in a very central location

The hotel has been refurbished, being a building executive i thought the finish prety average with detail not done well (inadequate towel rails in bathroom, leaking shower base, poor paint finishes throughout) in the dining room equipment was inadequate sith some new items broken down already including the coffee machine that sprayed me with milk froth!) Employees were very concerned and all showed they really cared, so the result was much better than it could have been.

Nice hotel, good stay.

My wife is a person with a disability but the hotel does not cater for the disabled. Not one room had a walk in shower, they all have bath tubs which my wife had great difficulty with. I requested a chair to assist my wife getting in and out of the bath but the chair was unsuitable because it was a "terrace" chair with curved arms. There wasn't one with a straight top to hold on to. There were no "non slip" mats for the bath which was very slippery. Otherwise, the hotel was very nice, quiet, beautiful view and value for money.

The centre of town is very quiet, with many closed down buildings. People just hang about in the square outside the hotel. The only time I felt slightly uncomfortable was coming back alone late at night, but no problemts. The view from the rooms is good through. Note the hotel advised me that a taxi was cheaper than the airport shuttle bus: for one person this is incorrect/for two people its about on par.

Restaurant service very poor, even during non busy periods. Rooms noisy due to ventilation system

Great service and assistance when accommodating my needs. I needed to change the type of hotel room when I arrived and they did it smoothly and without any problems. We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful suite.
