Holiday Inn Venice Mestre-Marghera

The only free computer was at the front desk. The breakfast was nice but cost 11Euros. The shuttle to the island from the hotel was 8 Euros and was only available at certain times. To park the car at the hotel it was another charge. It was inconvenient to then go to the island and drag you suitcase with you as we many people did. This made us decide to check out in the morning as my husband got up early and used Orbitz to find a place on the island. It was the best decision we made!!

Hotel was nice, clean and quiet. Reception was rude to my husband when he asked for assistance with bus timetables and how to get to the airport. They were less rude to myself, however, did make me feel I was inconveniencing me. Other than that, the stay was good.

Not so close to Venice as 10 km might suggest, but overall our stay was pleasant, and in fitting with the Holiday Inn image.

Just a few minute out of Venice, but with a regular shuttle service, there's no need to bother with traffic and parking - fantastic

Air conditioning did not work well. the outside temperature was 35+C and humid, and we could never get the room to cool down.

Ideal for visit to Venice at a much cheaper costs. Hotel Service and staff very good - extra towels for our child and spare bed made up. No smoking in the public areas of the hotel was a surprise for Italy. Local resturants in Mestra very good - Do ask at reception.

We found this hotel priced well and convenient (next to freeway) for travel by car or air. If you do not want to pay the high price in Venice this is an excellent alternative. Hotel shuttle to/from Plaza Roma very convenient. Not for romantic stay.
