We had a wonderful stay here with our 2 year old and 6 year old. We were upgraded at no charge on arrival to a family room, opening right onto the swimming pool - wonderful as it meant we could sit in our pajamas, on our balcony in the morning and drink coffee made in our room, watching the kids play in the water just a few feet away. We didn't really use any hotel facilities other than the pool, but the beach was beautiful and a minute's walk away. Great restaurants are easily walkable, or a 6 R taxi ride away. We hired a car at a ridiculously low price and spent a lovely couple of days exploring the quiet roads and beaches. The food was fabulous, the weather superb, the beaches gorgeous, and the hotel a superbly located and comfortable base for exploring and relaxing. Highlights - the cablecar, which is incredible, and a meal at The Lighthouse on the beach. Great coffee every morning at Troppo's. just down the road. Langkawi is a beautiful little island and we will be back for sure.
A fairly typical beachfront hotel, good location and nice views. We changed rooms when we arrived - they gave us twin instead of double but it was all pretty hassle free. For the price it was what we expected (which is a good thing) and it makes a good base for exploring the island. This place gets a tick from me and I would stay there again.

OK for beach little away from main town and shops, go buy water as they only provide 2 bottles on arrival only, Cactus is a good feed at a good preice right opposite
Very nice and big swimming pool. The beach is also great. There are many good restaurants near-by. Cactus restaurant accross the street offers good breakfast for a very reasonably price. The only minus at Holiday Villa are the rooms, which are quite out-dated.
our stay, 29th nov-3rd dec 2009. we could not fault this hotel, clean, nice looking, on the beach, lovely atmosphere about the place, didnt have any meals at hotel so cant comment about that. it has a lovely little beach bar with two really friendly bar staff. it has a nice pool area with a large pool for adults and a childrens area. we found this place to be nice and i would tell friends about it.
Low-key beach resort. Spacious but little flair. WiFi charged extra at MYR40 per 24hrs.
The rooms need refurbishing. Service level from individual staff members is in the range rate between very bad to very good. The hotel charges you extra for tea bags and coffee satchels in your room which is a lousy policy. Food in restaurant is pretty good. The only reason you would stay at Holiday Villa is the expansive irregular shape pool, with has a poolside bar service, and within easy access to the beach. Tourists should be aware that Langkawi beaches are second rate, compared to Australian beaches, with rubbish on the beach. Pantai Cenang, the main drag on this western side of Langkawi is in walking distance from Holiday Villa. Pantai Cenang is untidy, but it's interesting with some good food outlets at reasonable prices. Overall I would not recommend Langkawi as a holiday destination until they clean their act up (including the terrible state of their roads and footpaths). Ironically, you see "Keep Langkawi Clean' signs everywhere but nothing seems to be done about it.
It's a lovely place with nice pool view and beatiful beach. The room is newly decorated. It's not very nice and but ok. The location is good. You can find many restraunts and good spas nearby. It's also close to cenang beach. The staff there are very nice and helpful.
Being a reputed hotel it doesn't have any steam room or hot jacuzzi the only jucuzzi they had was near the pool which was not hot at all. the sauna was in the spa for which you have to pay. Paying 100 US dollars per night for the room the suna facilities should be free.
We stayed for 1 week expecting to relax in peace and quiet, however realised that that it is a very busy resort. My husband commented that all communal areas (lobby, restaurant, pool, breakfast area) was like grand central station. The room was quiet small however clean and presentable. What really disappointed us both was the ability for people to smoke in most areas like the restaurant, breakfast area, lobby, lift etc. The smoke was often thick and it proved difficult to get away from unless you went to your room. For the price we expected more services such as free bottles of water as you do at other hotels is Malaysia. All in all if you weren't too offended by the smoke it was a pleasant enough stay if you don't expect too much.
The hotel is very outdated and reception staff are very unwelcoming.The pool and beach are lovely. This is a 3 star hotel, pricing is correct.
Excellent beach, big swimming pool, near to shops and also good service from the hotel staffs. I think the toilet needs refurbishing though and there were many mosquitoes at the corridor to the hotel room during sunset.

It would be good if they could be a bit more flexible with their late check-out policy. I requested a 2:00pm late check-out (normal checkout is 12 noon) and was told that I would have to pay 70 MR. Most hotels don't do this if you ask beforehand.
I just stay there one night. Everything was good, friendly and helpful staff and beautiful sea view, except that the room was quite old, particularly bathroom. The ventilating fan didn't work.
Although a little bit tired looking, great location for travelling the island and eating out, right on the beach. fantastic pool, great value for money
Located out of town but close to the Star cruise terminal. This hotel offers a lot of services including a lovely out door pool, also outdoor bars right on the beachside to water activites and a great restaurant that would suite any traveller
