Hollow On the Square Hotel Cape Town Guest Reviews

5 out of 5

Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast provided with reservation. Restaurant in hotel convenient and very good. Location excellent. Cost of shuttle from airport similar to taxis but provided on requested schedule.

We arrived later than planned, but were checked in very professionally. When they heard that we were leaving again at seven the next morning, they suggested that we went to the breakfast room at half past six and that we would be served early, as the actual time for breakfast was at seven. We then ordered toasted sandwiches from room service and were served with the most tasteful sandwiches imaginable. The potato chips that one usually gets from room service at certain hotels, gives you the idea that it was made the day before. These were fresh and crispy and we could go to bed feeling refreshed in order to get up again early the next morning. They also assisted us in using their computer to book our preferred seats on the plane for the next day. Just excellent service all round!

Internet Access not very good. Two different providers for two different parts of the site. Had to pay twice to use. One in my room. A second for the main hotel area.

very noisy hotel. even though the location is fairly handy, it remains not that safe to go out after dark. the service is also quite so so. For sure definitely, the bets asset of the hotelk is its price and restaurant (italian).

Although the weather was not good during our stay, the hotel staff went out of their way to make our visit as enjoyable as possible.

All the staff were very helpful but I was quoted the wrong prices for tours and shuttle service so beware. The food from room service was well below standard, even to the point I couldn't eat it-but the breakfast was good.

Good value for money for R440 per night. It is not your international chain 4-star hotel and that you notice. The door to my bedroom could only open halway, because it hit the floor and the movement of the lift was as subtle as an African Elephant. But nonetheless, the room looked nice (recently refurbished) and the breakfast was fine. I would stay here again if I wanted a budget option in Cape Town.

Reception staff was courteous & professional. Was disappointed that they would not allow a 13h00 checkout (instead of 11h00) without a R450 charge.

This is the ideal hotel fo staying in during the Argus cycle race. It is virtually at the starting point. The rooms are big and comfortable and the staff go out of their way to accommodate the cyclists.

It is what it is - a 3 star hotel nothing more. We stayed in both sides of the hotel first in a suite which we thought for the money was very good £50 per night. Then in the main part of the hotel in a room which was styled more modern but as a room wasn't as good as the suite. The aircon was not very good in either room but the service from the concierge desk was brilliant. They booked all the restaurants and taxis and it took all the hastle out of the planning. I would book a hotel with its own pool if I went to Cape town again.

Situated in the middle of the Capetown Business District is comfortable, but the views from the hotel are terrible, there are no views other than brick. However, spacious rooms and good breakfast

I had a general good impression of this hotel. It was a walking distance to the waterfront in Cape Town. Fairly quite for being in CBD of the city. People were very helpfull and made me feel at home. Recommend it. The room and bathroom were spacious. It is good to invest in technology but it should work. I found their internett and TV quite wanting. The internett charged continously though it was not supposed to. The Hardisk that runs both the internett and TV was noissy especial at night when you had the TV off. Tv screen was small and you had to strain your eyes to watch it from the bed.
