The hotel consists of five shop-houses built in 1929 and features 32 individually designed rooms decked in a mix of classic designer and retro vintage furniture. Guests will find that no two rooms are alike, with everything from furnishings and beds right down to the unique clear glass bathrooms. 1929 also offers two specially designed suites with outdoor
baths set in tropical roof gardens that overlook the bright lights and bustling streets of charming Chinatown. Unique, hip, and comfortable rooms that are stylish yet truly affordable.

Getting there:

From the Airport:
Changi International airport is about 20km east of the city centre. A one way airport transfer booked through the hotel costs S$55 from 7am – 10pm (S$65 from 10pm - 7am); or about half that if you take a taxi from the stand outside Arrivals (make sure the driver takes the Expressway and does not take you on a tour of the island). Or you can jump into an airport shuttle - a six-seater shared maxicab departing every 15-30 minutes between 7am and 11pm - which will take you to any hotel in the centre for about S$8pp. There are also trains and buses but these are not convenient for Chinatown.

Check-in Procedure:

For cancellations / amendments made 72 hours prior to arrival date, 1 night room charge will be imposed.
For cancellation / amendments made less than 48 hours prior to arrival date, room charges for entire length of stay will be imposed.
For all NO SHOW reservations, room charges for entire length of stay will be imposed.
