Basic, clean accommodation in the heart of Singapore managed by friendly, eager-to-please staff - exactly what we expected.
though I can't really fault this hotel, I probably wouldn't stay here again - it was everything it claimed to be, and I had no problems with things like noise. I was especially impressed that although a budget hotel it even had a DVD player in the room! On balance, though, I think I prefer my hotels a little more luxurious - so as long as i can afford it I think I'll pay an extra $100/night or so and stay up in the 4* range. But no criticism of the hotel at all, and if you're looking for somewhere budget this is an excellent choice.
Booked the hotel as it was near the F1 circuit... no frills and clean. Recommended for those who have no fuss. I basically returned to the room only to sleep at night.
Located at a very convenient area with easy access to MRT. Although room is rather small, but it has everything that you need, Shower gel, shower cap, brush, towel and they even provide you bottles of mineral water. It is above my expectations.
Very central location, deluxe room was pretty simple, AC, bed, fridge, internet, window, bathroom with sink, toilet, shower consists of nozzle on wall floor of bathroom has a drain, water heating is linked to when your key is in the power box so dont plan on long showers with heat. didnt seem to matter how late it was i slept in till before going out, when ever i returned room had been tidied and bed made. For central city area was well priced and very close to amenities, staff were friendly and helpful
Hotel 81 Bugis in singapore was good hotel to stay and the pricing was petty goods too.
The hotel is clean and location is good. But there is no facilities, just room for you to sleep.
good value for budget hotel, not good if you are after luxury. very small clean room has the basics - AC, tea/coffee, hair dryer, TV/DVD player, no fridge. good location - 10 min walk to: bugis mrt, raffles, suntec; $5-10 taxi to marina bay casino, sands hotel, orchard road, clarke quay. next door are cheap but good restaurants, 7 eleven. bus stop directly out front. free parking
Excellent location, a five minute walk to Bugis Junction shops restaurants, and MRT station. It would be hard to find a more convenient location in Singapore.
The Hotel was good, a little bit noisy of a night, and no window to look out which was puzzling, overall i enjoyed my stay
Every time I had a shower the hot water lasted for about 2 minutes then it was like ice.
Best thing about this hotel was its location, being in the city centre does make getting around a great convenience! Close to Bugis, City Hall, Suntec City and Exhibition Centre. For people who wants a place just to sleep, this is it. Don't expect a slew of facilities here, as provisions were pretty basic only.
Overall is good, only the room a bit small.
The location is very convenient as it is about 5-minutes walking distance from Bugis MRT & Bugis Junction. A lot of shops around and food cam be easily hunted. Taxi was conveniently available. However, it was quite noisy during night time, as we could hear people come and go outside the room. The room-cleaning trolley was forever outside the walking aisle, which I don't understand why. The room (Superior) was indeed very small in size. As a conclusion, the only credit is the superb location.
the location is great! the bathroom is small - but manageable. i do suggest a couch (or at least stools) for the waiting lounge (for guests waiting to be served or waiting for a room to become available).
1. The cleanliness was just average. The toilet-cum-bathroom was very congested and its floor was not properly levelled. 2. The facilities provided were grossly inadequate in comparison to the very high pricing.
This is the kind hotel for people who just need a place to sleep and shower... and not much else. The rooms are clean and spartan, with all the basic amenities. The housekeeping service is prompt and they do a good job of keeping things tidy. Some guests are charged on an hourly basis (one indication that they're there for "something else"). Location is good, within walking distance of Bugis MRT station and Suntec City Mall. Abundant food outlets nearby.
I would recommend this hotel for value for money award. As a budget hotel this hotel sure offers cleanliness, adequate amenities, fantastic TV channels and plasma TV, great location, just 3 minutes walk to Bugis Junction and the price is not bad. Though the shower is a bit small. The reception from hotel staff is also ok.
Just basically average as what you can expect from a budget hotel. My room didn't get cleaned during the daytime despite me staying 2 nights, guess you have to let them know that you want the room to be cleaned as you go out during the day. Apart from that, the room is quite small and not much space to put your stuff. The shower is not separated from all other parts of the small bath/restroom so water splash all over things in the bath/restroom should be expected.
