Hotel 81 Dickson Singapore

This hotel is in a great area with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and gave me all the information I needed. The room is very basic. Couple things I disliked about the room was that there were a bunch of little bugs crawling around and they keep the room so cold that when you turn down the air conditioning, the floor turns all wet from the humidity so you have to be careful not to slip.

The room is clean but it's too noisy! The door seems like can't block the noise from the hallway. When people talking, closing door and even walking - I can hear it clearly from the room!

Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Tiny rooms.Clean and everything you need except no wardrobe. Walking distance to baguis market, and 2 MRTs. Would stay here again, price great for Singapore.

Room and Hotel very clean for budget. No window, cupboard or fridge in room. Shower base also has tiolet and basin in it, so every thing gets wet. Walls are paper tnin we could hear alarm clocks and phones going off 3 doors down. Staff helpful and friendly. Close to Bugis market. Great for the price, but very basic.

Overall good location and fairly priced. If looking for cheaper option loads of hostels on neighboring streets. But all in all recommend this hotel to others.

Ground floor room without windows but very poorly isolated for the noise in the hallway. If you need a bed for a stopover in singapore, it suits the the purpose. If you want a good nights rest ... look further because the noise is terrible.

Overall the hotel rates as good. However,the hotel rates are expensive when compared to the location that it was situated and the fact that at least one meal was not provided.The option of bed and breakfast should be there, as it is cumbersome to travel around looking for breakfast.

its worth it for the price its clean and new and cheap. its also safe with video cameras at all points. most of the time you are out shopping or sightseeing, so ask yourself why stay in a 4 star hotel were you only sleep for 400 a night. buy something for yourself withe money you safe. enjoy

I have been traveling to singapore for 30 years. I usually stay at 4 star hotels about 250 a night. last time i went there was an air show on in singapore so they all bumped up the rate to 300 plus. I was not happy so by luck ended up in the dixon 81 hotel at around 80 dollars a night. I expected a flop house for this amount but was suprised to find new air conditioned rooms clean with flat tv and shower. plus 2 free water bottles per day. the rooms are smaller but that is the only drawback which for 80 bucks a night I can live with. ps there are 81 hotels all around singapore and guess what, they are taking over the town and i say good luck to them, a travelers dream . a decent hotel at a decent rate and no half a day charge if you want to stay an extra few hours, just ten bucks an hour, ps the money i saved help buy me a new flat tv. im good ,

Rooms are small, but clean, as this is just opened recently.

Hotel staff is excellent and offers a very good service. We wish if there were some sort of meal facility, at least breakfast. But overall very happy with the hotel.

It is a relatively new hotel, so everything is in good condition. Unfortunately, the area it is in is a bit rundown. We stayed 5 nights, and the room was not cleaned/serviced until the third day. Not entirely sure why. After that, it was cleaned every day.

Room is clean but not much sound proof. Lots of noise from the corridor. Hotel Staff is polite. Surrounding area is bad. Unsafe feeling especially for ladies if they are standing alone outside.

WARNING: No windows in standard rooms... you'll be asked for S$10/night extra for a 'Superior' room with a window. Upon saying I would give the hotel negative feedback, the young male Ass. Mgr. waived the charge will considerable ill-grace. Like many exceptionally well planned businesses, it falls down on the laziness, unfriendliness and highly variable skill levels of it's staff - the young males on the front desk were unsmiling, ungreeting and unhelpful, the older females at other times were smiling, courteous and extremely helpful. The rooms are small, well-planned boxes with complimentary fast Internet (blue cable inside bedside drawer, set your IP to auto-detect). Thin walls, corridor noise, and be aware that these are also used as 'short-time' hotels. However, I'd stay again - but in other Hotel81s and pre-checking that the room has a window.

@pros - room very clean, got everything we need, flexible check-in time (ask nicely to them then you'll get it for free) @cons - a bit far from Bugis MRT, surroundings was not a good view, no hotel restaurant

An Exellent hotel, even on a budget. Very clean, very nie and friendly staff. Nothing is difficult, the facilities is excellent and it is centrally located, near the MRT, Bus stop, near the nice restaurants in Little India. I would recommend it to anybody, my friends and family. The most important thing for me was the internet connection inside my room Broadband cable, being my only link with my family and friends from Australia and Philippines, for the price, it was the best hotel I have ever stayed. Even better than Hotel 81 Selegie.
