"Lovely location overlooking the lake but a very busy area and finding it, even with a sat nav was a nightmare. Parking is then another challenge as this is at a sister hotel and you have to walk your bags back to the Barchetta. The Hotel Barchetta Excelsior is one of the most important properties belonging to the hospitality tradition of Como.

The Hotel enjoys the privilege of an enchanting view of the lake and is located a few minutes from the Cathedral and from the town centre, representing a unique frame to this historical building.

Getting there:

Milan Malpensa Airport:
from the airport, head towards Milan on the A8 motorway.
When you reach Cantalupo, take the A9 motorway, towards Como–Chiasso and exit at Como Sud.
Follow the signs towards the town centre.

By Train:
for travellers coming from Germany and Switzerland, Como is the first station after the Swiss border. Most trains running to Milan and to other Italian destinations stop at the Como San Giovanni station. For travellers coming from other directions, Milan Centrale is an important crossroads. Once at the Milano Centrale station, connect to Como through trains running to Switzerland and Germany. From the San Giovanni station, you can reach the Hotel Barchetta Excelsior either by taxi (in 5 minutes) or on foot (in 10/15 minutes, if travelling with light luggage).

By Taxi:
Pick up and transfer services can be arranged upon request from/to the airports of Milano Linate, Milan Malpensa and Lugano and also from/to the main train stations.
