Hotel Bedford New York

Very reasonable choice for family tourism - near everything, very clean, not much in the way of fancy facilities but you're in the middle of new york, so you can likely find all that stuff within walking distance. 1br suite fits 4 ok. WIth hotel validation parking just around the corner is under $40/day, not bad for midtown.

Very nice hotel in Murray Hill area, at walking distance to Grand Central and a few blocks from the Pierpont Morgan Library. Some rooms have a view on the Empire State Building!

A very enjoyable stay in a large room on the 17 th floor with a complimentary late check out. Great hotel and value.

My experience at the Hotel Bedford was great in every way. The staff at reception were friendly and efficient. I had a suite with a very large livingroom and work area, a small well-equiped kitchenette, a comfortable bed in a quiet bedroom and a clean, pleasant bathroom with good shower. The location at 40th and Lex was convenient to the meetings I was in NYC to attend, and also to a wide range of restaurants, coffee shops and stores. All that for a very modest price. I would recommend the Bedford unconditionally.

The Hotel Bedford is a very well kept secret which is a great value.

It was great!

Even the hotel is quite old and the image gives an oldfashion style image the stay in the hotel were very positive. The biggest reason for the positive image came from the good location, friendly service and fare pricing.

Very happy with our 6 night stay. Our room was upgraded to a suite which included dining and lounge areas as well as ensuite with bath & shower and kitchenette facility. No meal services provided but the hotel is adjacent to an Italian restaurant and close to deli and cafe outlets. Our request for late checkout was happily granted. Would definitely stay here again.

Very close to Grand Central Terminal. I recommand this hotel for every person who want an hotel in a very good place, and some rooms are equipped with kitchenette.

The room was not ready when we arrived at 8 pm, but the consierge offered a free "waiting meal" in the next-door restaurant when we waited for the room!

The rooms were large for New York standards. The carpet could definately do with replacing. A couple of minor problems but nothing that upset our trip in any way. Not all the advertised facilities were available on arrival t.ex the microwave and the iron. We did have to ask for these several times and they did eventually arrive a couple of days later.The number of towels and hygiene products were very hit and miss, you never knew which products or how many towels would be put in the room, but it was a minor inconvenience. Overall we would like to recommend this hotel for its location and the pleasant and helpful staff on the front desk. We would definately stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. It was exactly as "advertised". The one bedroom suite was spacious for the 3 of us. It was very clean. The location is great, places to eat nearby, everything is in walking distance. Hotel staff was helpful and pleasant.

Rooms are overheated - so much so that I had to open the windows periodically to bring the temperature down to manageable levels

Rooms are very spacious, our stay at the Bedford was very pleasant, I totally recommend anyone visiting New York for the first time to stay at the Bedford, it is greatly located to go anywhere in manhatan by foot or any other transportation.

Great value for money considering its fantastic location!

Huge rooms, and I do mean huge. Fittings are showing their age but I am not complaining as the size of the room and kitchenette more than make up for these minor shortcomings. Only other thing it was a bit cool at night and the heating was not yet on. Staff are pleasant and helpful. 10-15 minute walk to the UN which was great for me.

Although I normally wouldn't consider this hotel good value taking just the room and cost into account, it was excellent value given its location and the cost of similar hotels in the area. The room and bathroom were a nice size and very clean. We left our bags here in the morning before checking in and for most of the day after checking out, which was very convenient given that there are no public lockers anywhere in the city. Being a 5 min. walk from Grand Central was a real bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed in a very big triple room. The room and furniture was rather old but the small bathroom newly renovated. However, everything was clean and free internet connection available in the room. If you let the hotel fix a taxi to the airport, make sure to check the price with the driver. We had to pay $15 more than agreed at he hotel.
