we loved our stay at hotel de Paris in Amsterdam. The hotel has a boutique feel with friendly staff and a wonderful location. The room is small but nice and, really, who is going to be hanging out in their room all day?? Only downside is that you have to pay for Internet which seems ridiculous in 2011.
About 200m in front of the the Hotel are major roadworks on the Tram Line, very noisy from 8 am monday-friday,also noisy Pub opposite the hotel, avoid front rooms.
Great hotel. Had a small room for the first night as they were fully booked, then got moved to a nicer room for the rest of my stay. The wireless internet works fine, but note that you buy a voucher for a certain number of hours of access. You don't have to use it all in one go but you need to remember to log out so you can save your credit for your next session.
This hotel is in a great location and the staff is friendly. The breakfast is actually more than I expected. Yes the compact double is small, but the bed is comfortable, bathroom is clean and the price is unbeatable.
Room was really small and not cleaned very well. Breakfast was good though and location as well.
This hotel was well run and clean, the breakfast was a buffet, so lots of choice. The rooms, we had a triple ,was small but what you would expect for the price. The staff were helpful and friendly. The other guests however were quite noisy and it was difficult to sleep at times.I would love to return to this hotel.
Not bad hotel. Service people are friendly and cheerful. Area is pretty quiet, there are good restaurants on the same street and internet coffee shop just across the road.
I liked the hotel because it had more character than most others I looked at. The staff were very friendly and the room was lovely, if a little small. The bathroom was surprisingly modernly decorated with a glass sink! The only downside was no mini bar and no chance of breakfast in the room. Otherwise it served us very well.
Generally a good hotel, the owner is a helpful chap, there is a lift, so you won't have to tackle the steep stairs! Soft beds and the single I had was quite narrow. There is a coffeeshop and bar directly opposite.
Would happly stay again!
Very reasonable, nice facilities, good location, about a 20min walk from the Central station if you're inclined to do so.
The location is very useful, very close to the city centre
It is noisy and the 4th floor is a long way up if the lift is out of order! Excellent value
Hotel bedrooms are really small but are clean. They could do with more heating in the rooms especially as we were there in January and there was quite a draught coming from the bedroom window. They have no tea making facilities in bedroom. It was very central to all areas. The staff were friendly.
Nice hotel close to Leidse Plein, shops and restaurants Rooms are small but I think this might be common in Amsterdam. Bed was very comfortable.
Very clean and reasonably priced. Very good location for Liedesplein and other attractions.
Service was excellent and the the personnel was very nice and helpful. Location was also very: not faraway from Kalverstraat.
A small and nice hotel with a wonderful staff. When we go to Amsterdam again we hope to stay here.
The hotel was good. I like small ones. Nice looking house in- and outside. The room was small but enough for us. No noise from the street. All tramps are near, good location. There was one want, no beer in the bar! (normaly they have only beer, no other alcohol) The breakfast were narrow. But I can think this in other time.
