Spent two nights here alone busy in the day but what a treat arriving back at night. Wonderful food, drinks and atmosphere for a delightful meal in the bar before heading to my room using a security key. Once inside my room I had a tea and stepped into a deep skinny tub then into a comfy bed. Perfect for my needs. Love the free wifi but you agree to receive email announcements to forego the almost $10 fee. There are stairs to the lobby, which was a hassle with luggage. There is a bellman and he was available but busy so I towed it alone.
I was very impressed with the Hotel deLuxe. The lobby and rooms have a glamorous charm and though it's an older building it is very well maintained with modern amenities. Rooms are a bit on the small side but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even kicked in a few extra perks since I was booked for a full week there. The location is a real strong point--right on the Blue and Red MAX light rail lines for easy travel to various points of interest and connecting to the airport, and within walking distance of downtown, Pearl District, and the Nob Hill area. An excellent choice and great value.
Hotel Mallory guest rooms include Porcelain bathtubs, sinks, and deco-style tile floors that make the Mallory an ideal spot to rest up after a long day’s work or play.
I have to say that the staff at Hotel DeLuxe were amazing! Every request that I made was answered with "yes we can do that for you". They always had smiles on their faces and were very knowledgeable at the area. Reid the bartender was great! We wanted to know about all the local breweries and he gave us some really good tips and directions to each place. I would defintely come back here again when visiting the Portland area. Thank you so much for making us feel so comfortable in a city that we have never visited.
very nice and accomandating staff warm and cozy rooms love the hotel art deco style and feel
I was in Portland for a conference, and rather than staying near the convention center I opted for Hotel Deluxe. It was a great way to explore the city on my way home every evening. The light rail made travel within the city incredibly easy.
I choose this hotel because I got 20% off. I loved my stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice, offering coupons for the restaurant, free internet, information, help in every way. I felt welcomed and cared for, which made all the very small disagreements disappear. I had a great stay! My room was very nicely decorated, in yellow and blue, with comfortable pillows, an extra comforter, a nice flat screen tv, cute bathroom with marble floor and a bathrobe, tea machine in the room. The walls were a bit thin though, I could hear the person next door coughing, and I would hear also the water running down the pipes. But it was ok, it was light and didn't really bother me. The bed was comfortable but one side was lower than the other, it was ok though. The view was so so, I was on the second floor (the Hitchock floor), and I had a view on a flat roof through a fence. I kept the curtains closed, I was there mostly at night so it didn't matter really. There was a small smell of detergent in the room, but it was not too bad, I prefer that than a bad smell. The room (I reserved a room with a king size bed) was big enough for one person after I put all my stuff in the closet, and my suitcase in a corner of just the right size. It was tight but everything fit perfectly. I am not sure how you can comfortably manage for two people with two big suitcases though. The hotel is located just outside of the center, a short walk from it. It took me 25 minutes to walk to the conference center, and a little more to come back with the tram. But you don't need to go eat somewhere else, the restaurant of the hotel is quiet nice, and reasonably priced. With the coupons I received, it was a steal! Don't miss the Japanese Garden, 40 minutes away by foot.
Awesome bar and lobby - very cool decor. Nice location but not right in the heart - although just short couple of blocks away. Silly small exercise room - 3 pieces of cardio equip and some free weights . . .very lame. Horrible shampoo/conditioner/soap - bring your own. My room was small, but not a big deal b/c just one. best part is the restaurant, lobby, bar - great place for hanging out w/ a glass or two of wine.
What a special place, especially for movie buffs! They were very welcoming and security conscious for the single traveler. The front desk gave great suggestions for nearby restaurants. I'd return in a minute!
There was some initial confusion with the reservation and check-in. The reservation was mistakenly duplicated by [...] the hotel, but the issue was fixed easily enough. During check-in the staff was friendly but a little unprofessional (very giggly). Otherwise, the service was fine though- no major issues at all. The room and the hotel were clean and aesthetically pleasing to boot. We loved the flavored cold water available in the lobby each day! The ubiquitous Wifi was very helpful. Great location from which to explore Portland and the surrounding area.
Compared to other 4-star hotels we've stayed at in Portland, the Hotel DeLuxe was just so-so. It felt more like a good, clean, serviceable 3* than a 4. Decor, kitschy. The room was small and nothing out of the ordinary. The location is definitely not like the ones we have stayed at right downtown. The Stadium District isn't much of anything, far as I can tell. It didn't matter because I just hopped in my car and went about my family business, which was why I was there in the first place. Staff super nice, I will say that. Would I stay there again? Wouldn't be my first choice as a destination hotel in Portland.
It's a bit tucked away from downtown, but still an easy walk. The lobby itself is grand and very nice. There is always someone opening and closing the door for you at all times, which is great and such an added bonus. The room we stayed at (standard queen) was small, but perfect for us. We were out and about for most of the day anyway, so it doesn't make much of a difference for us. The floors are themed very well to go with the old glam of Hollywood. We stayed on the 2nd floor, which was the Alfred Hitchcock theme. The noise level was tolerable. Only early in the morning did we hear the garbage trucks and/or train come by. It might be bad on other floors, but it wasn't a huge problem on the 2nd floor. The bathrooms are okay, not big, but not that small. The beds are great and so comfy after a long day of exploring Oregon. The only complaints we really had were the bad coffee and horrible toilet paper! Great overall if that was our only complaints though.
The hotel itself made the trip special. The decor is clever, detailed, and clean. I can't say enough great things about the staff. Everyone was so helpful and interested in how the day was spent.
WENT TO SEE MY KIDS.. HAD A GREAT TIME SO MUCH TO SEE IN PORTLAND.. THE HOTEL WAS THE BEST. WHEN I GO TO PORTLAND I STAY AT THIS HOTEL CLEAN AND NICE AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT..
Good location, very near MAX rapid transit stop. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast/brunch at Gracie's restaurant was delicious. King room somewhat small, but bed was very comfortable. Not all rooms have good views--our first room was very quiet, but had a view of a brick wall. Hotel staff was able to let us switch to a room with a view our second night. Some noise from transit train, but not much. Overall a very pleasant experience. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Was immediately impressed by the politeness and genuine customer service. From the parking valets, to the front desk, the bar staff and the restaurant. Everyone made me feel special. I would definitely stay there again.
The service was impeccable, from the bellhop, thre front desk staff, to the housekeeping. Thel ocation was convenient. I was dissatisfied with my orignal room assignment but, with a quick phone call, the bellhop was able to change us to a much nicer room with a view of Mt. St. Helens. Very satisfied.
Very charming and first rate through out. The staff was very attentive and helpful when needed. Everyone we met who worked there was pleasant and we enjoyed our stay tremendously.
Hotel DeLuxe provided the perfect weekend getaway in the middle of the city with much to do. The room was quiet, well-furnished, comfortable, and with beautiful decor. The location is great in Downtown Portland, close to wonderful coffeeshops, dining, and public transportation around the city. The staff was helpful and available for answering questions. The downstairs restaurant was phenomenal, but pricey. Great place to stay for business trips when you need a quiet spot after a long day, and would also be a great jumping off point for any activities in the portland area.
Very accommodating and helpful. Comfortable room. Lovely service.
attended a family reunion of a sort. other family members were staying at the same hotel. we all enjoyed the rooms, valet service, bar, dining room and just hanging out in the lobby. the staff was very courteous and helpful. all in all a very enjoyable stay.
