Can't fault this hotel, particularly not at this price. Free internet in the room (LAN cable provided), even the laundry (including detergent) is free (small fee charged for dryer, which is only fair). Clean, modern hotel, close to Kumamoto Castle, shops, cafés and the central bus terminal. Easily accessed by tram from the railway station.
The hotel was clean, and the staff was very friendly. The location was very good in proximate location to the shopping arcade and other entertainment and downtown Kumamoto. The hotel caters primarily to Japanese businessmen, and does not appear to get many American tourists. Nevertheless, the staff did a terrific job of meeting our needs. My only issue is that the "double room" we initially resided in was smaller than the master bathroom in our home, and did not comfortably accommodate two adults. After three nights in this closet, we upgraded to a larger room (Room 1207 - I am not sure what category this room was given) that was more than satisfactory and met our needs very well. I would suggest that room sizes be made clearer in booking rooms at the hotel.
