Getting there:Only eight kilometres from Adelaide airport, you can get to the Hotel by: Taxi, around $20.00 one-way Airport shuttle, which cost $8.50 per person one-way Bus Walk to Tapleys Hill Road, eastern side. Take Bus 132 (Harbour Town to City via Rio Vista Avenue, Lexington Road and Henley Beach Road) Run by Adelaide metro, this service costs around $4 per person. Car Head north on Sir Reginald Ansett Drive. When you reach Tapleys Hill Road turn right and travel for about six minutes. Turn right at Henley Beach Road, travel for about 10 minutes and take a slight right over Glover Avenue for about two minutes. Turn left onto West Terrace and continue for about one minute until you come to Hindley Street. Continue down Hindley Street over the intersection of Morphett Street and the Hotel is on the right. This was a very upmarket hotel at a very reasonable price! It is right in the heart of Adelaide (a two minute walk from Rundle Mall) and the room was delightful. The buffet breakfast, which was on special for just $16, was also very good.
We booked a Deluxe Queen room, but instead got a disabled motel style room. A very generous reviewer might have given it three stars. When we pointed out that we were not disabled and had no need for a room fitted out as such, we were told that rooms were allocated on arrival and we could pay more to upgrade if we wished. Given that we had booked and paid IN FULL two months previously, this response was less than satisfactory. Definitely not the way to handle customers with a legitimate complaint.

I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions, both for work and for pleasure. It is always clean, very comfortable, has great facilities and the staff can't do enough to help you. It is in a great location, 2 minutes walk to Rundle Mall for shopping and closely situated to major business venues. It is always a pleasure to stay here.
We'd booked a queen bed room and were disappointedly given a room with one double and a single bed! When I enquired "there were no queen rooms available" We ended up handing over another $25 which gave us a 'king room' on the top floor which was a great room.
Received a complimentary upgrade and again found the hotel' s rooms exactly to my liking. Beautiful smooth bed linen and beds without the plastic underlining which I find so uncomfortable that I do not return to those that have it. Both inhouse dining and Restaurant meals were excellent. It is one I will return again to.

This used to be the Holiday Inn and since the take over by Grand Chancellor not much has changed! The rooms and particulalry the furniture are still the same from 5 years ago, except the price is nearly double. Very tired bathrooms and showers are old. Breakfast restaurant is dull and limited choice for a top price. Parking used to be free but is now $15. Not always change is for the best.
Very comfortable. Walking distants to shops, cafe's, restaurants. Breakfast staff were lovely and friendly. The breakfast menu was amazing. Very happy with the 11am checkout. Overall a pleasant stay.
Beautiful facility, lovely rooms, attentive staff. Not happy about the club out the back that had loud music and patrons until 1:30am on a Thursday night/Friday morning. Other than the noisy club I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to friends.
Everyone was very nice and helpful. Room service was fast and yummy. Close to shopping, food and night life. The only whinge I have is the bed wasn't the most comfortable but other than that it was all great.
We stayed at this hotel in September 2011 and were pleasantly surprised at the standard of the hotel and the rooms. We stayed in a refurbished room and the facilities were very good. Although the location is not the most desirable, we had no problems with our room or walking to and from the hotel. Our best tip is request a room at the front side of the hotel to keep away from the nightclubs at the back of the hotel and we had no problems with noise in our room
Great hotel for a great price, would recommend this hotel.
If I could give this hotel a 10 I would. It's the best value hotel anywhere to be found. Large super comfortable room with the most comfortable bed and not to mention the "pillows", fabulous. Great location, close to the free city trams and a lovely lounge area downstairs that you can just fall in to and have a drink......doesn't get any better than this place. Did I mention it was quiet, you would never know anyone else was in the place, just don't forget to turn your air con off at night, it sounds like people above you are showering all night.

Very good hotel. High quality fittings and all very clean. Good location close to shopping, bars, clubs and transport. Room size is above average and well fitted. Although located in a busy location, this hotel is quiet for the tired traveler This is really a great hotel and great value for the price.
My wife & I and two other families stayed for only one night but nobody in our party could fault the hotel in any way. Will be back.
Staff were excellent - helpful and friendly. The internet booth for guests next to reception was another plus. The room was super clean and comfy, although beginning to show signs of needing renovation in the bathroom. Room service, including special deals was yet another plus. The dinner in the resto was very acceptable and, again, reasonably priced. The only disappointment was that there was no a la carte breakfast service and Hindley Street is definitely not chic.
We found the Hotel grand chancellor on Hindley very good for service facilities and location. The staff were very helpful and friendly. On arrival we were offered an upgrade to an executive suite, which proved to be excellent. We were very pleased with our stay, and would definately stay there again.
Great venue and great value, could'nt ask for better
As always, this hotel ticks all the boxes. I enjoy staying here.
