Getting there:Hotel Shuttle Bus: • Large Hotel Bus - clear hotel signage on side of bus • Transfer Service operates between the hours of 4am – 2am daily, collects & drops off passengers to & from the terminals every 30 minutes • The scheduled pick up time from the Airport is approximately quarter past & a quarter to the hour with the last pick up of the day at 01.45am. •The first pick up of the day starts at 04.00am. There is no service between 2.00am & 4.00am. • The cost is $10.00 per adult for a return fare and children under 12 years old travel for free. • The pick up point at the International terminal is outside door number 6 on the outer forecourt. Passengers need to cross the road and wait at the bus stop on the outer forecourt. • At the Domestic Terminal the pick up is outside door number 5. *The Shuttle driver will issue a Red Ticket onboard, please hand this ticket to reception for payment on check-in. Reception will issue a yellow ticket for the return trip*

This was a pleasant stay. The room was adequate and did the job for an overnight stay for an early morning flight. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good as were the attentive staff. I would recommend a stay here if you are looking for something cheap and cheerful.

Although this stay was only a few hours, it was great to see a friendly face when we arrived in the middle of the night and had to leave again in the early morning. As always, staff were wonderful, room was great, and the few hours sleep much appreciated prior to our 6 hour bus trip.
As usual, very pleasant helpful staff, a lovely room, great facilities.
The rate was great but the room was a bit tired. Attention to detail with cleaning in nooks and crannies would improve the general feel. Reception was a bit understaffed - tough times, no doubt as it looked like lots of rooms empty. Staff in hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful.
THe Grand Chancellor is my preferred and reasonable overnight stay option when travelling through Auckland. Although a little oldish, the rooms have everything one may need for a good nigt's sleep. The hotel also shares a 10 NZD regular shuttle from/to the airport (unfortunately not at 2 AM) with a Holiday Inn and a few other hotels in the area. The only negative experience was that once I had checked out, there was no way I could get wifi internet access while waiting for the shuttle.

We found this hotel to be very good, in a good position near the airport. Service was good, airport shuttle was good and we ate at the restaurant and and found that to be good also and on our visit could recommend it.

Good value for close to airport & quiet room - only disadvantage was we did not knowthe room was not air conditioned. This should be stated in the booking page.
Excellent staff and very efficient transfers to and from the Airport. The room was very comfortable. The bar staff were extremely friendly and we look forward to our next visit. We will be travelling again at the beginning of March and hope that we can find rooms at a similarly good price.
This is a good hotel if you are travelling to South of auckland and wanted a hotel nearby international airport.....
