Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne

Got off to a rocky start! Room had 2 single beds, we were told to push them together if we wanted a KING! Staff were able to upgrade our room which was fantastic. Made the evening much better.

Second time we have stayed at this hotel for a night away in the city Very comfortable room. Location was excellent for our purpose. Enjoyable breakfast Pleasant staff. Would definitely come back

Good location, standard room. Good breakfast for $16. NO WIFI in room.

The room facilities were very good- spacious, comfortable armchairs, comfortable bed and good TV. The location was very central to everything - shops, theatres etc. perfect for a city break. No noisy guests, no noisy lifts, just a relaxing stay.

All good, but rooms quite tired. Good price and great location.

What a great find.....friendly helpful staff......great location.....dining and bar. Looking a little frazzled on arrival, I was upgraded to a room with a spa on level 15, a very much appreciated gesture. I couldn't get over the size of the room, it was enormous by normal standards and the bed & pillows, heaven. I couldn't rate this hotel more highly.

What a great thing to have a hotel with windows that open! No dehydration from air con and lovely fresh air throughout the night. This hotel met our needs - location right near china town, really comfortable bed, friendly staff and a bar downstairs. The only thing I could suggest is that it could be a little cleaner (although nothing to get too concerned about) and on the Saturday night the people coming out of the nightclub across the road at 3am were really noisy so woke us up. The other nights were fine though and only really street traffic to contend with.

The Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne is an old Hotel but it has been tastefully upgrade and is continually being further upgraded. It was in a fantastic location, clean, comfortable and the staff were delightful ... a true pleasure to deal with ... no complaints from us.

The hotel was very central. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and were able to answer all our questions. The rooms were a good size, just a little dirty.

The hotel surpassed our expectations. Well done, Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne! The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The extra blanket requested was delivered quick smart. The buffet breakfast offered a feast so we lingered indulgently over breakfast. Even the array of tea flavours in our room came as a pleasant and enjoyable surprise. From this experience, we give HGCH a most deserved high recommendation.

The standard room we booked with Hotel Club was very small. We were given an option to upgrade to a Superior room, which we did, but it did cost us another $35. The room suited our purposes however the curtains did not close properly so therefore early morning the daylight streamed in, plus the Superior room faced Lonsdale St. which was very noisy all night. Other than that the position etc., is something that will not put us off staying at The Grand Chancellor again. I also book all my accommodation with Hotel Club and have NEVER EVER received a "Thank you card" as part of your recommended Hotel program.

I had a nice quiet room which was roomy and very clean. Excllent staff.Excellent facilities. I would stay again.

Great CBD location, everything I needed, and I paid a good price. Perfect for what I wanted

Adequate for 1 night ,not used to double bed but will be more aware to book a queen size next time.good location,friendly staff and excellent breakfast.

We have stayed here about 3-4 times when in Melbourne. We find the hotel very central to all needs, theatres, restaurants etc. Staff are courteous & friendly and the room clean & tidy. The breakfast is also very good.

Excellent service in the most part. A little in need of repair but in general a great hotel in a great location.

Location good, close to shopping and MCG, staff were nice and friendly, breakfast was lovely. Rooms were daggy, not what I had expected, need to update, but was clean.

The hotel was excellent, as was the staff. The location is perfect, the beds in the superior rooms were amazing! Woul return and would certainly reccomend.

What a great hotel, central to everything, staff were very helpful on check-in and departure. All staff were professional in their approach to work. The breakfast was great and all reports read previously justify how good the food was. Will come back again & stay. Keep up the good work staff & well done we enjoyed our stay.
