Hotel Granvia Kyoto

Excellent location , courteous and helpful staff, room size good, long walk from elevator to our room 200 metres

The concierge service was exceptional both in their ability to service english speaking customers but also their knowledge about the area and their willingness to assist us with car-rental issues we had difficulty with because we could not speak japanese.

service good but the expence of afternoon coffee in the cafe was triple what I could pay eslswhere.

Excellent Hotel on all counts. Great value. A lot of Japanese hotel rooms are very small but functional. The rooms in this Hotel were large and spacious, truly great value.

Great location (get off the train and you're there)! Many shops and restaurants 2mins away, Bic Camera shop (electronics, cameras etc) down the road. If you don't have time for a sit-down breakfast, there's a Mr. Doughnut in the train station. Helpful concierge - good English. Very clean, quiet (in the rooms we stayed in - 9th floor - we couldn't hear trains at all) free internet connection in rooms. Would definitely recommed this hotel to others, no hassle - it's IN the train station.

The location is great especially if you are travelling from Osaka and want to get your bearings in Kyoto. The rooms were great and the service exceptional. The restaurants were quite pricey if you are looking at eating in.

Noise from the station tracks - presumably to warn of doors about to close - repetitious and can be annoying. Station location is extremely convenient, but be aware it's quite a hike to the Shinkansen tracks!

Excellent location, just in front of the Kyoto train stations and the Tourist promotion board is just the corner. The hotel was lovely and clean and staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel. Although the price was a bit high, I would definitely stay at Hotel Granvia Kyoto again.

Excellent service at this hotel and great location ! Our stay there was memorable. We will come back to this hotel next year with our children. The architecture of the hotel within the Kyoto Station is really incredible and amazing. Great establishement and wonderful staff, very professional and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent Hotel. Location over station means luggage transfer is easy from train, while bus station outside means all the shrines are easily accessible. Wonderful, high quality restaurants in the hotel. Excellent economy food available in the shopping malls associated with the station.

WE were very happy with both the staff and all of the services offered by this hotel. They did their best for us. Hope to stay there again.

This is by far my favourite hotel in this trip. Hotel lobby, corridoors, lifts, restaurants and room all spells CLASSY. I had a triple room with my sons. As usual third bed is a foldaway, but this one was sturdy, big and comfy. The other 2 twin beds in the room were larger than normal and guaranteed a great night's sleep after being holed up in rather small and dinghy hotel rooms in Tokyo. The bathroom had a shower that was not into a bath. The products provided for bathroom were of high quality. Free Internet access in the room was a treat. Buffet dinner in the Grace Garden restaurant on 15F was value for money. It provided both Western and Eastern offerings. Only gripe if it can be called one is that the tea and coffee in the room was not complimentary. Location is tops ie above Kyoto Sta and plenty of shopping in the nearby Avanti Shopping mall and subway shopping Pronto. My best stay so far. Sad to leave will return.

Great location as the hotel is on top`of JR Railwaystation. Many restaurants including one (Le Temps) that you can order till 23.30 hrs. As most restaurants in Kyoto close between 21 and 22 hrs, this is a great advantage.

The Granvia Kyoto hotel, is one of the best hotels I've stayed in a while. The service is brilliant, with all staff being very friendly and all having some knowledge of english (for travellers who need some language help along the way..) The location couldn't be better, directly above the main Kyoto train terminal, so getting to and from airport, and around town is a breeze. Facilities are great also, with an indoor pool and gym. The rooms are larger than usual for Japan sizes, and have all that you need. Overall, a fantastic experience in a beautiful city, and would recommend it to all travellers.

First class in premium position right over the rail terminal in a beautifull city, especially happy about the great rate received on this site. :) Will go back here again.
