Spotlessly clean, excellently located within easy walking distance of main attractions, and with a very helpful staff.

Very helpful staff especially the women.

Bathroom was a little under par for what I would expect at this rate of hotel but otherwise it was an excellent place to stay and the manager was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay.

The hotel building is 500 years old. It means, some rooms are quite small but still comfortable enough - incl a nice bathroom. WiFi Internet was not available in rooms, but there was an ADSL-point in the lobby for free. Service was nice and friendly, breakfast simple but sufficient. The best part of the breakfast was the coffee made specially for you! Will certainly go back while in Genova again.

Nice hotel with good breakfast and hot showers. Very friendly staff providing recommendations on where to eat etc. We will stay here again.

Located in the "old city", but close to where I wanted to be. May not be the first choice if travelling with family / young children. Reasonable all round. Not as appealing as in the published photographs. Good cameraman!!

City centre location was good for getting around the city but a bit hectic to get to in the car, especially in the rush hour. The garage service was OK but up a narrow side street and down a steep ramp into a crowded garage yard.

Good points: Well marked, easy to find. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free internet for guests, wireless availiable with your own laptop. Bad Points: Room just big enough for the bed, unable to open bathroom door without banging it into the bed. Overall the Helvetia was value for money as it was our cheapest hotel stay in Europe.

Hotel located in a great location, near the dock and the mains streets where most attractions are within 10 minutes walk. Located less than 10 minutes walk from Genoa PP station and easy to find. Reception was very helpful, and the hotel has a lot of interesting information, photos, pictures around the reception and dining area. Great hotel, would stay again if I ever needed to go back to Genoa

The hotel is at a great location and the price is excellent. It was a bit cold in the room - you cannot control your own temperature and the floor is stone so it even makes it colder and getting around the room a bit difficult. Brekafast was Ok - not much to choose from.

Clean hotel which is centrally located to the sites in the city. It is walking distance from the Stazione Principe. Marco was very helpful in detailing the sites and giving information. From the Principe Stazione it is possible to do a day trip to the Cinque Terre as we did. A good little Hotel. I would stay here again.

In the heart of Genova, this charming hotel served us well! Very nice room with a lot of character! We had a 4 bed room which we loved. The lady in the reception was so friendly and told us exactly where to go in Genova, and we could use the hotel computer for uploading pictures etc (In other Italian hotels, they were really weird about this!!!!!!!) Very good, recommended

travelling through Europe this was our favourite-great location staff are very friendly & helpful-free internet For a budget hotel-it was the best In Genoa we stayed here 2 times- before & after our cruise-we loved it- I will stay there again if we'r passing through Italy

A very nice hotel, the ideal for any tourist who wants to discover Genoa. Staff is superbly friendly and for a three star hotel the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good too. My wife and I really had an enjoyable stay at Hotel Helvetia Genoa and wish to return there next year.

Excellent location, wonderful hospitality. This family-run hotel makes the perfect stay at Genova. My wife and I had a great time and all hotel staff gave us very useful tips for visiting interesting places and attractions in Genova. Breakfast was very good as well. Highly recommended!

We were not expecting to give this middle of city such a good write up. could not fault th eroom and the beakfast was more variety than we expect would return there any time. also on bus route for sight seeing and close to the harbour area. But the only fault we had was that the garage we parked in agreed a charge for the two nights and one day but having paid the figure the hit us with a further charge when we were taking the car out. the hotel did try to get it reduced to no avail so beware of garage charges

It is an easy walk from the train station . Older hotel but vey clean and the staff were extremely helpful recommening faboulous restaurants and also supplied city maps and pointed out places of interest.
