Hotel Kabuki San Francisco Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

This is a nice and confortable hotel. The staff was very friendly. My wife and I stayed here for three nights and the Japanese tub along with the comfortable bed made it a very relaxing stay. The only problem we had was the location. Japantown sounding like a good idea, but in reality we found that its kind of depressing because it looks old and run down. It was not so great to have pan handlers asking for money everytime we walked around.

Check in was a breeze. Nice desk staff. Hotel is very nice, feels very Japanese, very well done. Hotel is in a nice, quiet area, completely free of the homeless in immedate area (typically most tourist areas in SF have allot of homeless). It is located in Japantown, which isn't as busy as most other areas here, so it is pretty quiet. We stayed in room #811 a corner King room, which was nice and big enough for 2 adults & 1 small child. (Spacious rooms also rare in city!) Room and hotel are pretty clean. Everything in room is super cute Japanese style from beautifully painted sliding privacy screens, a wonderful Japanese soaking tub- which is a super deep tub, yummy lemongrass bath salts & soaps, and even tea and tea set! In room coffee maker & hot pot for hot tea. Oh and there's even a medititation garden outside the lobby that is so serene and beautiful! We will surely be back here! I've stayed in allot of places here over the years of visiting, and I am very impressed with Kabuki Hotel! Booked thru (name excluded) for $99/night (weekend rates) such a great deal!

polite and helpful staff made stay at the kabuki a pleasant experience from the valet at the front door to the end of our stay. the decor and vibe of the kabuki made this centrally located hotel a most memorable part of our san francisco visit.

I stayed at the Kabuki Hotel in Japantown. It was a terrific time. Japantown is really fun--great shops, restaurants and atmosphere. You almost feel like you are in Japan. There is a terrific movie theatre nearby. Fillmore street is only a few blocks away and that is a really fun street with many boutiques and restaurants as well. The Hotel Kabuki has a beautiful Zen garden that is very Japanese and my room overlooked it. It was very relaxing. The hotel is close to many different areas of the city and you can always find a cab there.

Had a great stay in kabuki, was located close to fillmore street and public transport was easy to use from this location. Rooms were comfortable and clean and service was good, had an enjoyable stay here and would return, was good value for money in san francisco.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was large and clean, and the location was perfect for seeing the city. There are several excellent restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

Polite and helpful staff. Spacious room compared to most we experienced in the USA. It cost just $9US to get a taxi back to the hotel from the Fisherman's Wharf area. You can get there by bus for $1.50 but late at night a taxi is best. Recommend a day pass eligable on bus, tram and cable car for $11. These features mentioned because Kabuki is probably a little further out from the city centre that most SF tourist hotels but is not really a handicap. Free pass to Hot Bath House nearby is an added bonus. Food at hotel also very good. Hint: use the city guide to get a coupon for a shuttle back to the airport at just $11 per person.

In all of our travels I think this was the best hotel experience we have ever had. The staff was wonderful. The facility was simply beautiful. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated. And what a great location. We will only stay in this hotel when we visit San Francisco again.

Facilities: Dining options were limited. There is one restaurant in the hotel serving light meals and close by, there are small scale restaurants specializing in delicious Japanese style meals. Location: It was just far enough away that if you had interests in the central part of town or the conference centre, you had to rely on taxis. Service was frequent except when it rained and there was considerable waiting. The concierge made every effort to obtain taxis for guests during those times.

The hotel has wi-fi both in the lobby area and rooms. Their bathroom really impressed me! They can also save your important personal belongings for you at their counter. Use this service when you need to.

The Room pricing was good however the fact that I had to pay for parking made the total outlay lose its cost-effectiveness. The ambience and the Japanese setting made it all worth our while though.

This was a GREAT hotel. The location was ideal for traveling through the area. I found street parking every night and ate great Japanese and Korean food in the area. I really liked it and will return for business or pleasure. PS The soaking tub and bathrooms are great!

Nice, clean hotel with cheap rates and a friendly and helpful staff. Only drawback is that you need a taxi or bus to go downtown.
